We visited DLC before it changed to Temptations as well as a couple "Desire weeks" and even the grand opening as it was re-branded a Desire resort. We thought it was a nicer, newer resort property (over Desire Cancun) and since we're more Pool people vs. part of the "beach crowd" we didn't miss the C/O beach area. That said, Desire Cancun (12 trips) still has a vibe that Cabo lacks. DC is often sold out, but always close to full occupancy and that just generates a more "electric" atmosphere. DLC has always seemed to have a bit of a younger average age, though all age groups are represented. You'd likely be more of the "senior" crowd there, but right in the middle of the mix at DC. DLC is much more accessible to the Left Coast, whereas airfare is easier and cheaper to CUN from the East and Midwest. These are just averages and your actual mileage may vary.
Still, final word is, it's the people who are there that week.
