Once you're naked in the pool or hot tub, all you have is your personality. I think that's what really makes Hedo what it is. The people certainly make the resort famous. The people we met at Hedo on our two trips are just as eager to accept everyone's cosmetic flaws as they are to accept the resort's cosmetic flaws. Can't beat that! Now, I will also say that the resort owes it to their paying guests to do some reasonable fixes. In 2014 it's really unforgivable to have a screwy water system. By now, they should have figured that one out. That's the only functional deficiency I've ever witnessed. The rest of the nits are all just cosmetic and can be fixed over time, which is what the new owners are doing.

They really have to replace the old air conditioning units....don't forget about that. Many people have gone back home with respiratory/chest and coughing issues. They are terrible and shouldn't be taken as acceptable. We are still trying to get back to normal, I had breathing problems by the end of the 13 days and I have never had any issues like that anywhere before. Guess I should have brought the Lysol cans with me as was suggested by some Hedo repeaters.

We had done 7 trips between H3 and then H2 and we too decided it was not worth the money spent in Jamaica to continue going there. We have now been to Desire RM three times and we love it. While I'm glad to hear of the renovations happening at Hedo, we've decided to wait it out until we consistently hear good reports of the changes.

I will not argue with anyone who says that Hedo is more of a party atmosphere. I agree with that wholeheartedly. We always traveled with a well sized group, so that might have added to it. While it can be fun, there were times it was a little much for me. A lot of unsavory behavior from people who were completely smashed, and that's not our style. We love the classier atmosphere at Desire. That's just our preference.

I'll also agree with the previous thoughts on the pool area at Hedo. It's not good. Too small, no views, not enough chairs to go around, no poolside servers, a long wait at the bar on busy weeks. DRM has that beat in all areas. We are really excited to see the new pool at DRM that will be done at the end of this month. Just in the year and a half we've been going there, they've made a lot of beautiful upgrades to the resort, and we love that they don't wait until it's in total disrepair or completely unusable until they do it.

And the towels! Yes! One of my biggest pet peeves on our last trip to Hedo! I had to steal towels from the gym nearly every day since we were usually left with one hand towel. To share. Between the two of us.

There's actually a name for the respiratory illness that most people get from the AC units in Jamaica, the "Hedo Crud". If it's got a name, it's gotta be fixed. So gross.

But to each their own. It's your money, your time off work and away from your family, your vacation... go where you are most happy. We do!
