Questions from a first timer

Postby Mnk9614 » Sun Sep 14, 2014 8:23 pm

Hello everyone! My wife and I have never been at Desire and we will be arriving at Desire RM sometime at the end of February, beginning of March 2015 (I am not providing exact dates since it appears to me that there's a specific forum to disclose this information).

I have a few questions:

1 - my wife and I are not in the lifestyle. We are not shocked or opposed to PDA (no matter how intense) as long as (I quote my wife): "We don't trip over them while they are doing it and break a leg". My question is: since my wife and I have no interest in swinging, will it be a problem that we have no intention in participating? For the most part we really just want to lie naked by the pool sipping pina coladas the whole day ... (we are avid nudists and we are intrigued by the "playfulness" of the resort, of course but not interested in joining in). I just want to gauge what the attitude is towards non-swingers.

2 - how's the weather in Cancun between the end of February and beginning of March? It's in the tropics so I am assuming that being naked during the day shouldn't be a problem? what about nights? I think it's not the rainiest of seasons either ... but I thought I'd ask people that have been there before (and I do understand that the weather is always unpredictable).

3 - what are the best and quietest rooms away from noise? There's a night club, and all sorts of late-night venues in the resort and while we don't mind joining in from time to time, we would like a room where it's quiet at night (reasonably so) so that we can get some rest.

4 - how's the beach? My wife and I as I mentioned are active nudists and we like to go to nudist beaches as much as we can. How is the beach at Desire? Is it clothing optional (I'm assuming it is)? How is it in general?

Thank you very much for any answers or insight you can provide!

I will help where I can.

1. There is no obligation to join in or play with anyone at any time. If a person or couple were to express interest, you could politely decline and/or add that you are nudists and not in the lifestyle if you wanted to. We have personally not had any experiences that were uncomfortable or felt any pressure from anyone. There are certain areas where more "action" happens at certain times, such as the jacuzzi late afternoon and late night. You can limit your time there if you don't care for it. I suggest at least checking it out as it can be very erotic.

2. Our first trip there several years ago was in February and we had cooler days (needed a robe during the day) and warm days. I would always prepare for either. We also have had cold and warm nights in November on different trips. Maybe some others who travel at that time can weigh in here.

3. I would think rooms at the back of the resort would be quietest as they are away from the pool and bars, etc.

4. We love the beach! We used to not spend any time there but now we like the serenity of it since it is quiet and we can enjoy watching the water. The water has some algae, but it is not bad and we always take a swim at some point. You can reserve beach beds at the beginning of your trip.

Hope that helps and you have a wonderful trip.

Not participating is perfectly acceptable. A simple no thank you is all that is needed. People will openly ask you if you are in the life atl and all you have to say is no and they immediately understand that you're not interested. We are going for our 3rd trip in a few weeks and haven't encountered any pushy people at all. You do whatever you want to do and that is all. It is your vacation!!! We specifically ask for the 2400 building which is garden view, middle section, and as far away from the pool as possible. It is a very quiet building and we actually ask for the farthest room away in that building. We stayed on the ground floor our first trip and stayed on the second our last and love it. Standing out on your balcony naked an feeling the breeze from the ocean is very nice ;)

If you check out the POLLS, in that section you will find that while Desire is Lifestyle friendly, it may be a mistake to refer to it as a "Lifestyle Resort" as many, many of the couples who enjoy vacationing at Desire do not consider themselves in the Lifestyle.

Notice the term "sexually adventurous". I think that's the best "label" to use.

I wanted to go to Desire next March too but unfortunately it seems that my schedule can not fit the time. Though there are a bunch of people at Desire swing, I hear people talking about swinging, and some put it into action, quite a lot stayed with their own partners only when it comes to intimacy. It is not a "must-do" resort, but an "optional" resort.

Thanks all, very helpful responses.

At this point my wife and I are very excited and looking forward to it. We will definitely check out the play room as well to see what it's all about. If the mood strikes us we might even decide to join in on some "light" play :)

We are really more concerned about the weather at this points hoping that end of February beginning of March will be warm enough to allow us to be naked 24/7!!

In general that time of year the combination of normal time of year night temps and the prevailing winds tend to make it cool enough once the sun goes down(unless you are actually in the jacuzzi) to wear something. There have been many nights at this time of year where you might want to bring a light sweater if you are just sitting in the open air lobby lounge area.
