Don't the tides, the moon cycle, the earth's rotation, etc., all have something to do with each other? Maybe we can blame the Super Moon?

We went to DRM a couple of years ago when there was no beach, much like it is now and, although it's nice to have the whole beach, it never caused us to not have a great time at Desire.

Sure, we go on a beach vacation to enjoy the beach, but there isn't much we can do about the lack of it

It will come back. But it's a great reason (if you need another reason) to book another trip to Desire RM.

Anyone that lives along a coast knows that the beach and shore line changes all the time. If you look at pictures of Waikiki Beach from the 1940's you can see that there is really no beach to speak of. When they started to build the beach front hotels and resorts they trucked in tons of sand to make the nice beach that you see today. Every 10/15 years they have to bring the sand back to the beach from the coral about 400 yards out from the beach where the waves and tide takes it. About 5 years ago the city spent 7 months and millions of dollars to rebuild Waikiki Beach. It is not just Waikiki Beach, every winter the North Shore of Hawaii takes a beating from the winter storms ( the same storms that such great surfing contest) and some that have homes there have lost 30 feet of their ocean front yard to the ocean. So the beach at Desire RM will come back when ever Mother Nature decides Or someone can spend millions to truck replacement sand in. That is why one has to get permission from the state and federal government to build a seawall, dike or anything that extends into the ocean as it affects and changes the tides and waves.

Just got some pictures taken yesterday beach is almost back from the CC old bar to the Volley Ball court. The north side is slowly coming back based on the pictures. Not to worry the person that took the pictures made sure no nude body's of faces showing.

Just got back from RM for 5 nights. We were last there 3-4 ? years ago and the beach is very much eroded now. The beach bar isn't even used anymore because it's in the water. We went to Pearl one day to visit friends and the beach is much better there. We actually spent most of our time up at the pool so it really didn't make any difference to us but if the beach is a top priority you might be disappointed. The beach in front of the pool, bar and restaurant is much wider but also not too private an area.
