catamaran trip

Sorry for the delay but we did on our first trip. There was someone who went around the resort trying to sell the trip (we were at RM and the catamaran was next to Pearl) and we went ahead and booked it (I think we could have booked it from the hut next to the pool as well). When we got there (via a van from RM to next door to Pearl) they tried to put us in a MUCH smaller catamaran than what we were shown (there ended up only being 9 of us going). We put our foot down and they finally put us on the big cat and sent us out. At first the crew (4 guys) didn't seem happy taking us out (only 2 were going to go on the smaller boat), but once we asked if it was okay to take off our cloths, they didn't seem to mind any more and were always around ready to provide drinks or whatever. We skin dove the reef, went to the island and after dressing had a buffet lunch (eh...) then went to one end of the island for spinnaker sailing (using the spinnaker to lift people into the sky) and swimming. On the way there was another boat with only about a dozen people on it...all dressed. After seeing our boat, the women started talking their tops off, then the bottoms came off, then there was nobody on deck (lol). The other catamarans we saw were FILLED with people (at least 40+). They were standing room only and NOT clothing optional. We LOVED our trip! The next visit, we asked but were told that they didn't have a trip (don't know if it was just when we were there or if they stopped doing them) or we would have gone again.

If you do go, make sure they don't try swapping boats on you (the pictures all show the 'big' boats with netting in the front) and that it is just for Desire visitors. We would have been horrified to be packed on one of those other boats we saw.

FYI - there are no nearby islands located off of either Desire RM or Pearl - the nearest islands to either Desire property are Cozumel( a 4+ hour sail one way) located off of Playa del Carmen or Isla Mujeres( a 5+ hour sail one way) located off of Cancun city.

My mistake, we departed from Temptations not Pearl. The island is Isla Mujeres and it's about 5 miles off shore. We dove on the reef between the two then went on to Isla Mujeres and had a buffet lunch, then to the NW corner of the island for swimming and spinnaker sailing then back to port. It was a great experience and we hope it is available the next time we go.

Just to add to this. Met a couple recently at a club who said they did this last April with 3-4 other couples including one who is a professional fisherman in Florida. Said the waves were very choppy & many got sick. Now I can't r call if it was after drinking or on way there. It could have been high tide or something too. I am sure others could weigh in on how calm waters are in regular basis. They left from pearl to isla mujers

We went on this 'boob cruise' 6 years ago when staying at Temptations. It was 'alright' only. A few got down to bare and I think most were maybe a few steps beyond vanilla and were expecting to experience more, but it could be what they hype the cruise up to be and it really depends on the group going to make it a 'party'. People make the party not the cruise vendor.
However, When staying at Temptations we did rent the Catamaran as members and invited 6 other couples (and a single guy) along for an afternoon and we had an insanely crazy sexy blast out there. It is too bad that the members use boat is stationed near Temptations and not out at Puerto Morelos, because if members wanted to use the catamaran with other couples, the cost in getting over and back from Temptations and blowing a whole day away from RM or Pearl doing so would not be worth it. Best pre or post Desire with other couples along, but could be a planning issue with various schedules.
