Shade at the pool?

Postby jbcouple » Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:25 pm

Hi everyone,

My wife and I will be taking our first trip to DRM in a few months. I understand that some of the day beds at the pool are available for a fee, but I'm curious if the "regular" (free) beds offer ample shade? Yes, we'll be sunscreened up and plan on having lots of fun, but my ability to sit in the direct Mexican sun is somewhat limited! Just trying to figure out if we are better of renting day beds or just winging it with whatever is available.

Thanks!

All of the beds (except those reserved for members) are free. They do need to be reserved. There is a staff member (Usually Danny) that will help you pick out a bed. Suggest getting there pretty early in the morning, because the beds go pretty fast each day. It's not hard to find shade at the pool, and the staff will be more than helpful.

There are always umbrellas by the "regular" beds so you don't have to worry about getting burnt. And yeah, the beds are free for everyone and there is always availability so no problem with that either.

Word of advice and given with experience...even under an umbrella, wear plenty of sunscreen. My fair skinned husband didn't use it under an umbrella and got a little pink. The umbrellas may not have SPF protection.
