When we were at Pearl last month the sales team told us that they bought the property next door to RM and will be building a Mansion, new villas and a new hot tub there. Is there any construction going on yet?
Also they said that they hoped the new resort in the DR would be ready by Jan 2021. Any news on the status of this build?

The only ones talking about it are the membership sales people - and we all know how trustworthy information from them is - lol

And to repeat - As I've stated many times:

There is NO new Desire in the DR.
They announced a DR Temptation property way back in 2017, but no construction on it has started to date

There are ZERO press releases at this time announcing any new Desire Properties

Agree with Coke. Been hearing about construction in the DR “about to start” for at least three years. I wouldn’t hold my breath.

In regard to the property neighboring DRM, I was there last month. It’s still an overgrown lot with no signs of any imminent construction. However, the seaweed barrier does extend to the far edge of that lot, which is a definite improvement for the DRM beach.

We were told that the DR resorts (Temptation and Desire, side by side) are supposed to open in 2021. Obviously that can't happen if construction hasn't started or doesn't start soon.

We were also told that additional villas would be built at RM. And a Mansion. And some pretty major realignment of the facilities.

But don't believe any of that until you see it. Take any promises from the membership sales staff with a boulder of salt for your margarita.

Have been members of this forum since 2008 and the questions of new construction at a Desire property seems to up every six months or so. The information comes from someone in the know (sale team members) so like Coke Man has said over and over don't believe anything about a new Desire or new construction until Original Resorts makes an official press release.
