Passion Suite Question

Postby cphillips » Tue Sep 22, 2020 1:50 am

Noticed on the resort map that there are two second floor passion suites in a building by themselves and are shaped different than the other 8 closer to the pool.
Which building/ layout do you prefer and which floor?
I see pros and cons for first and second floor.

We stayed one night in one of the two PS that are in the separate building and moved the next day. We didn't like it at all. Small windows, dark, shower was a kind of weird tub you stepped into. That being said, our neighbors prefer it because it is quiet, dark to sleep, and they could smoke on the patio without bothering anyone. But we won't stay there again. We prefer the main cluster. Big windows, great view of the ocean, near the pool but still quiet. We usually stay on the main floor, easy access to the pool or beach.

Thanks for the reply. So you like the main floor, can you see the ocean good? Like the access part, was concerned the beach beds would block the view. Have you ever stayed on second floor to compare? I’m sure either will be great

We had same experience, the shower was odd. I will also add that in this building there is only one sink in bathroom, and for some reason it was low. The hot tub was elevated, which was kinda cool. Overall set up with it all was weird. Main benefit for us was it was definitely quieter and on the patio we had a lot of privacy since there were only two rooms. It just depends on what you are looking for. There are times we love being in middle of the party scene, and other trips we want quiet.

Regarding the level. On first floor you do see the beds but can see the ocean as well, it is just obstructed. The BIG benefit for me for first floor is much easier, and less risky, while in heels especially after a few drinks. :)

Would agree with all of that. Great view of the ocean. There are beds in the view, but I wouldn't say they block the view at all. They are probably 30 or more feet away and you drop down a few feet to the actual beach. So, you are really just seeing the upper parts of the beach beds. There is a great patio with tables for each unit and then a grassy area separating the patio from the beach. The patio can be pretty social, depending on the group. Last time we got to know all 4 or 5 neighbors pretty well and everyone met for cocktails a couple times before dinner. And yes, the main floor access is great for us. Sure the second floor has its benefits also. It is right by the pool but we don't really hear it in the unit and at night, it is shut down, so doesn't impact our sleep. Although at 2 AM after a night in the disco, not sure much could bother us. :)

Thanks for the info. Curious, you think more “action” happens on first floor or second floor?
Didn’t know if there was a difference with the second floor being open to neighbors but not open to people in beach beds and beach

There is a seawall of sorts on the edge of the grass next to the beach. So the grass and patio area is certainly visible but also not really a place anyone else would be. So, no real action there that I have seen. We sit outside and have breakfast/coffee and then drinks at night, sometimes with neighbors. It is more conducive to meeting neighbors than most of the other rooms.
