Music in disco

Hey all...

Let me start off with - we love DRM, we are members and we will be back within a year COVID be damned.

Our august trip was great, with one exception. The music in the disco is tired, repetitive and kind of sucks the fun out of the place after a few nights in a row. One of our main reasons for going is a little night time entertainment followed by some sexy time together. The dancing and disco is a big part of that. When the DJ places the same rotation of songs each night it makes it hard to want to get out on the dance floor.

Of course, still love the property, staff, friends we have made and will continue to make. Just please mix up the tunes.

I have to think we are not the only ones with this concern.

In our experience this summer, the DJs rotate. There were 3 working our last visit. Each has their own tracks they play. Yes, the tunes can be repetitive. They are suppose to play a certain genre each night, using 20-30 min's, then they can go to their tracks. If we hear songs we are not fans of and the floor gets empty we ask the DJ to play tunes we like.

Just completed our 9th trip to Pearl and each year, we make the same comments during the check-out survey. The only thing to improve is the night DJ in the club and each time we return, he is still there with the same genera over and over again. And WAY to loud!!! Nothing cleans out a space quicker than a fart in an elevator or a bad DJ that can't/won't read his audience.

Have to agree with all of the above. The DJ's do rotate and usually if you ask them they will play requests other then at Pearl. We have been to RM about 15-16 time and Pearl 3. The last trip to Pearl ended it for us when the DJ just would not play anything requested, empty dance floor and the place was emptying just as fast and all he would play was his techno remixed EDM, we left as well and have never returned since. All our trips are now to RM, at least there it may be repetitive but the DJ's do play to the crowd more and will play requests. I even mentioned this to the guest services manager at Pearl but obviously not much has changed there.

Have to agree with all the above. We only go to Pearl and have been over 20 times. Our biggest gripe is the horrible disco music most of the time. Out of the 3 DJs, only one of them seems to read the audience. While we never have a problem getting any of them to play our requests, we only start requesting when it becomes obvious it's not going to improve that particular night. Then we end up dancing to our requests all by ourselves because the disco had already emptied out. The guy with the glasses is the worst and, unfortunately, he seems to be the supervisor of the 3. We cringe every time we see that he's running the show. I always compliment the better one, but it never seems to make a difference. It usually just ends of being an early night to the Jacuzzi.
