Upcoming trip and predicted weather

This will be out first trip to DRM, the upcoming weather isn't looking the greatest with every day 60-80% rain/thunderstorms...is this the "rainy" season, or does the forecast typically call for rain/thunderstorms that are short lived? Really hoping its not a washout for our first experience!

Don't ever sweat the weather reports in the tropics. It's almost always going to show daily thunderstorms. Usually that means a storm will sweep in sometime in the afternoon, rain hard for 30 mins and then clear out. We were just at Desire 3 weeks ago and the weather was predicted to be atrocious for the entire week. It turned out to be gorgeous every day, and actually only rained 2 days out of 8.

That’s been our experience as well. We’ve also had trips where no rain was forecast, and it rained for three days straight. The resort still does plenty of fun things when it rains. Indoor casino activities, playroom, disco etc.

Don’t even look at the forecast…just enjoy your time there. No matter what, you’ll have fun!

Glad to hear! We aren't ones to the let weather stop us from having fun - hopefully we will get some sunshine. Regardless, we are anxiously awaiting our arrival!

After almost 20 trips to Desire we never even glance at the weather any longer. Used to freak us out until we realized their meteorologists were even more inaccurate than ours! Looks like you're leaving tomorrow, have a SEPCTACULAR time!!
