So, we've been trying to book the villa for what seems like forever and there is NEVER availability. Even as far out as the summer of 2024 has absolutely no availability. I suppose it's possible that they're just that popular, and there are only 4 of them, so they just get booked out way in advance. That makes some amount of sense, I guess... though I'd love to have the kind of life where I could commit to trips 2 years in advance with confidence, and wonder how many of us actually can.
All of that being said...
... last time we were out, during our meeting to pitch us on re-upping our membership, they offered to move a reservation we had coming up in just a few months to the Villas from the room we had to book instead because there was no availability. In other words, if we'd have signed up to spend more on our membership, they could have moved us in to the Villa on something like 80 days notice. How? If they're booked out years in advance, how were they able to offer that perk?
We're starting to think the Villas are more sales vehicles than a room type you can actually book. "We'll move you in to a villa for the rest of your trip/for your next trip if you sign up/re-sign" kind of thing. Then, with all the thousands you spend because you love those rooms, you can't ever book them.
Feels bad.
Of course this is all conjecture... does anyone else have better luck or other theories about all this?
