Hotel to airport questions

Can anyone help with a few questions? We will have a departure at 5:45pm flight out of Cancun airport at end of August. What time should we leave the hotel DRM? Are there road works? Are there normally taxis at the hotel? What is the normal fare?
Any extra tips, guide, points greatly appreciated.
This is our first trip to DRM. So excited and nervous.

We were first timers last year too, had the same concern. There are a number of companies that folks here will talk about but a popular one you'll see here is USA Transfers. Great service, good price.

We used them last year for 3 trips, from the airport to a different resort (we spent a couple days at vanilla resort first), that resort to DRM, and DRM to the airport. We had zero issues and plan to use them again on our upcoming trip! On the way back to the airport, they told us what time they were picking us up based on our flight time so we just needed to be ready at that time. There was traffic getting back to the airport so things got cut a little short but not the fault of USA Transfers.

We've been to Cancun several (over a dozen) times.

We've used USA Transfers, Canada Transfers and Sarmez shuttles all with great success. They have good websites and you can get your quotes there.

On our last 3-4 trips, we've used Sarmez, because their rates were the best. Their drivers are always prompt (on time or early), courteous and drive well. On our most recent trip (just 3 weeks ago) our return flight was 10:30am and the shuttle service recommended a pick up time of 7am (This was leaving from Cancun Hotel Zone, not Riviera Maya, by the way and we paid $65 round-trip)

I thought that was too early, but actually, it was perfect. We got the airport early, but the lines were insanely long.

Book private transfers ahead of time, you will get an email from the resort to assist in this 30 days before. They will let you know what time they will pick you up, for 545 they are going to want to pick you up 3 hours in advance.
