Hi, wondering if anyone could provide updates on SYW at RM in August so far. Some say it’s just a marketing gimmick to
Get people in during the slow month. Wondering if August is more sexy and wild (for young, who cares, age is just a number). We’re going up at the end of August and wondering if RM is more wild than usual.

We have been many times in August. It’s the same as any other month. Don’t overthink it. Just pick dates that work best for you and GO!!!

August is personally our favorite time to go. It had been a bit quiet when there was no Eden. This year is the first we'll be there with the new area. There does seem to be a pretty good variety of ages, but still leaning more toward the older crowd. But everyone gets along so well, age never seems to matter. Also, it has been very hot the past few years so you have to consider that as well. But we love the heat so it makes sense for us.

Hi, this is a great post. Can anybody opine about SYM in January? Is it wild and crazy or just the same old with different branding. Going later this month and would love to know what to expect.

We've visited DRM a couple of times in August and I really observed no difference in the crowd.
I think the SYW is about marketing.
The rates are more reasonable, but in August Cancun is effing HOT!

We have been at DRM many Januaries but also in February and April; I would say the difference depends on the crowd and not on the month. In theory rules are more relaxed in January but I would not say the difference is significant.
