Pool Chairs

Postby jbll200045 » Mon Jul 26, 2010 4:50 pm

We have read quite a bit about the pool chair problem. Here is our question. If you don't get up at 7:00 to reserve a pool chair, are there other options of being able to sit somewhere in the sun on a chair? It sounds like the beach is pretty much gone so where do people sit if all pool chairs are taken?

First- recent reports are that with the additional chairs added in the past few weeks there is no need to be up at 7 to get a chair. That issue seems to be gone now.
But even if it is a week when the resort is packed full, keep in mind there are about 40 elevated 2-person permanent beach beds (doesn't really matter how much sand/beach is there) plus 4 more of these beds near the lobby bar, 2 or 3 more swinging 2-person beds on the other side of the lobby, loungers just outside the pool area on the widest part of the beach, and some comfy seating in the gazebo and the paviliion near the gift shop. Add all that to the fact that a certain number of folks will usually be at the pool side restaurant or sitting at the pool or lobby bars and it's hard to imagine that anyone could possibly be left standing. Not all of this seating has sun, but plenty of it does and it's usually the SHADE that is at a premium- not the sunny areas.

Yep it seems to be a non issue for our trip.. cant imagine you ever had to be up at 7am.. in fact that is hard to do even for early 5am risers like us.. we arrived at 8:30 or so and it was only 50% full.. the folks who arrived at 11 am or noon had to go to the beach chairs just outside the pool. Lots of folks just lounge in the pool and it is the place to be at about 5pm if your not at the spa bar. the pool starts to get some shade by then and folks are in a meeting mood or maybe some are in a horny mood.. just a great place to catch the last rays of sun setting over the famous glass BJ wall. for us after a few hours of sun it was time to stay in the shade for the day.. They have lots of umbrellas on stand bases and they will move them for your needs.. so grab one early. Also the pool chairs start getting open by 3pm as folks migrate to other places. Also dont hesitate to ask for a better chair as they open up and the guys by the pool will move your stuff.

Just got back and chairs weren't really an issue. Shade was though. You had to get up early to get an umbrella or a shady spot under tree. We made it to the pool each day around 9 and Daniel was always able to find us some chairs. After a while he was usually able to get us an umbrella also.
