Tropical Storm Karl ?

Postby wetcoastcouple » Thu Sep 16, 2010 2:09 pm

Anyone have any word on how Tropical Storm Karl may have effected the Resort ?

Thankfully it didn't come ashore as a Hurricane but from some of the television coverage it looked like there was definitely some rain, wind and waves that effected the Cancun area and point south . .

It came ashore hundreds of miles south of Desire - all that Desire received was a little rain and not even any wind.

Well that's nice to hear.

The newscast this morning talked about it coming ashore JUST south of Cancun and then showed some pictures of a lifeguard re-securing a flag on the beach with a tonne of wind and waves rocking the shoreline. They eluded to the pictures being from Cancun but they certainly could have been shots of a beach in Belize or somewhere like that . .

Probably stock footage from some other storm - must have been a slow weather news day - lol - when most think about the east coast of Mexico the only location they seem to know is Cancun

That's why it is handy to have friends right in the ground

Here's a sky pic taken at at 11am Thursday by a friend of mine in Cancun (this was taken at the moment that Karl was predicted to be the closest to Cancun)
