Looking for a compatible group trip

Us: 40's, decent shape, easy-going professionals, easy on the eyes. On and off members of a lifestyle website very popular in South Florida. Visited Desire once a number of years ago (still had the lobby pool then) and are occasional visitors to swing clubs in the Southeast Florida area. Love hanging out in and by our pool au natural. BUT! We are not swingers, at least not full swap. We simply enjoy hanging with others who are in the lifestyle or at least open to it. We are are not shy and are not jealous types.

In other words, we like to watch and be watched and soft swap is not out of the picture if we click with another couple. We have no time for bedpost notchers and they would likely have no time for us. We like to travel, meet interesting people and have fun. Our previous visit to Desire was an almost perfect experience. We did meet another non-swinging (at the time) couple there who we have stayed in contact with even after they became full swap. We find it somewhat humorous that one time we were having drinks with these two and he asked if I (the husband) could ever watch another guy having sex with my wife. I told him I had with a former wife and that it was fun, but this was something that my current wife (and love of my life!) and I had agreed was not going to happen. He was all "no, no, I couldn't do it". That is, until it did happen. And then I guess he discovered he actually liked watching his wife doing another guy quite a lot. So now, she is a hot wife. Who knew?

So...any suggestions on a good time to revisit Desire? Any groups out there that would welcome a friendly, attractive, fun couple who enjoy lifestyle surroundings even if we don't participate in the...festivities...directly? Recommendations based upon experience from others who share our sense of adventure would be particularly helpful!

My wife and I share a very similar description to you and your since of adventure. We are going to Desire for our first trip Oct 27-31 and are hoping to enjoy the atmosphere much as you describe. I don't know if you can still get rooms during the Week 43 time frame, but from everything we have read on this forum and others, we are very much expecting a fun filled adventure.

Well hello, I guess my wife and I and also Jagchunter are not the only couples into the great atmosphere of Desire but not into full swinging. We are her 45 in-shape, and him 31 in-shape. Yes, I married a cougar had too say that.

Our dates this year are Oct 29th to Nov 6th.

Next year we are looking at mid April to mid May. Maybe looking at going with the KNOT group May 6 to 14th. But, we are flexible.

We would love to have you all join us with the Ynot's in May. We always have couples all along the lifestyle/non lifestyle scale- and everyone gets along great. We WILL have a great party, with friendly fun loving people who'll you'll never forget !

We're 36/39 and in the same boat as you, KandL6, and we found others during our stay last month that played the same way.

Although, I think even if a couple is full swap, I think some would respect your boundaries and play by your rules if they liked you enough.

You will find "40's, decent shape, easy-going professionals" (as you describe yourself as to what you are and what you are looking for) almost any week that you go. You will also find folks who may have one out of three things you are looking for or two out of three.

And it sounds, to me anyway, that your 'boundaries' all depend on who you are with.

You could choose any time of year and any week and you will most likely find what you are looking for in your post.

Jag and others - thanks for the replies. Jag, we hope your first time is as memorable as ours. Years later, we still talk about the experience. It was a great vacation, although not without its minor incidents. Like the single guy in the upper level hot tub who had sneaked in from a neighboring resort one evening. Hopefully he tripped and fell down hard a couple of times when security escorted him off the property.

I guess what we are trying to ensure is that we don't visit during a week when there is a large group of hardcore "why are you here if you don't f**k other people" folks or super-cool 20-somethings at the resort. Not that there is anything wrong with those groups, but obviously we would not fit in. The Ynot group visit in May is actually probably good with regards to timing, although we have not made definitive plans on timing quite yet. I've heard about the Ynots before, but only recall the name of the group and nothing about it.

We were also looking for a group to go with, contacted the ynots and they were very receptive to us......as a result we are going 8-14 May.

We have been to Desire Cancun only once (heading down there again in November) and Desire Cabo twice. Fortunately we have never had those issues. Folks still talked to us throughout the week but then again, we were there for each other, not looking to hook up with anyone (unless the stars and the moon aligned) :lol:

And the "younger ones" kept their drama to themselves (for the most part).

Having said that, though, this time in November there will be a European group that we overlap our time with so we will see what transpires with having an actual "group" there.

As we were leaving Desire Cancun last year there was a large group coming in and the resort workers were all "excited" about it. I think the tone of the resort was really going to change with the group.

In our 6 trips to Desire, the only negative times were those when there were a large group there. One time, we were actually part of the group, but we didn't mesh well with most of them, and therefore felt really isolated. So my advice is to not look for a group who you think you would be compatible with, because you can never be sure that will really be the case. We had actually met some of the folks in the group we went with prior to arriving, and still had a negative experience. Now, before booking, we always make sure that there are no large groups booked at the same time. I find that couples who are there on "their own" are much friendlier and more willing to talk to you even if they don't expect any "action" from you.

Our experience has been the opposite of Luv4life, but of course people are different and enjoy Desire in different ways.
Just rest assured that there are also big differences between different Desire groups, and if you are someone who appreciates the higher energy level that a group brings- there are Desire groups that you would enjoy.

For anyone who is interested in joining the Ynot's at Desire May 7-14, 2011- the word today is that there are now only 17 garden view rooms left for the week- and they are only available thru our group.
Don't wait too long and get left out..........
