School Night Theme

Postby CLG » Tue Sep 28, 2010 4:33 pm

My wife and I enjoy participating in the theme nights. I believe that if my wife is going to have an outfit for school night, than I want to join her, but it has been difficult for me to decide on an outfit. I always try to be creative with my outfits, so I don’t want the usual Professor or typical schoolboy outfit, but I have a couple of ideas:

1 – I graduated in 1988, so I was going to dress up like 1980’s student that would include a “Big Hairâ€

We think you should go for the mini-kilt. The Sharon half of us thinksnit would be interesting to see what's underneath.

It's nice to hear there are other guys out there that like to dress the theme or at the very least dress in something other than what they would wear to the beach.

I think they both sound like great outfits!

Saw a guy who dressed as a "nerd". Thin tie, glasses, pocket protector, etc. Was a great match to her school girl look !

Aw, come on, Sharon.

Everyone knows that nothing is worn underneath a kilt.

(All together, now): It's always in perfect working order.

(Sorry.)

And, mfay, what in the world is a pocket protector?

And, CLG, a few Scots private schools have a kilt as optional normal wear. Not so sure about the suspenders, though.

oldseadog- you obviously need to watch more low budget American movies ! See the link here to a site with pictures from one such movie about nerds:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088000/
Note in several pics the plastic holder inserted into the shirt pocket to hold pens.............

Well, well, you learn something new every day.
And obviously I need to get out more.........
I don't think these were ever used this side of the pond, though.
Thanks, mfay.

At Desire might it also be called a pocket full of condoms?

Okay, I'm taking a bit different route! A naughty school girl needs to be punished (lightly of course) by her teacher.....so, be creative on what teachers look like (I would wear a light jacket with tight undies and a tie, nothing else) and the only prop you'll need is a wooden ruler.

Mike's suggestion of a nerdy teacher is a popular one but I just have this thing about dressing nerdy...not attractive...LOL! I know, it's all about the girls......

You have the right spirit, have fun with it!

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning towards the 1980's student. I just hope the other guests understand the idea of the outfit. Wearing my graduation shirt with the year "88" on it will hopefully do the trick.

Just returned and the 1980's school outfit was a lot of fun to wear. I received some good laughs from other guests and the staff and that was the whole idea behind the costume.
