What time can you check in?

We are looking at taking an early flight and will probably get to the resort around 11...will they let us hang at the pool/beach until our room is ready? I mean we will be wearing our suits under our clothes afterall

they are very good about letting you go out to the pool and enjoy the resort until your room is ready. they are also very good about letting you hang out all day waiting for time to leave after you check out. Oh by the way you do not need your suit

We have been to other resorts that offer a "complimentary shower room" to get cleaned up prior to departing on a late flight. Does Desire offer the same service?

If you have a late flight and have checked out of our room earlier in the day, the Spa can be used to clean up shower and change when you are ready to depart.

Am I correct in assuming the resort will "lock up" our luggage until we depart?

Worry not ! It will be well taken care of by Arcos and the bell staff. It wont actually be locked up, but will be placed in a secure area that is constantly monitored.

BottomsUp - here are some small tips for you

When you pack to come to Desire make sure that you pack your pareo/wraps, sandals, suntan lotion and a plastic bag right at the top of your suitcases - that way when you arrive you can grab them, go over to the Spa and change then dump your street clothes and shoes into the plastic bag and stash them back into your suitcases (which the bell people will hold for you) - then you are completely free to enjoy all that Desire has to offer you without dragging around extra stuff.

When you pack to go home do pretty much the reverse of this, going home clothes and shoes packed on the top of your suitcases - when you are ready to actually leave grab these from your bags in the storage cubby where the bell people have been looking after them, change & freshen up at the Spa and then dump what you had been wearing back into your bags as you are waiting for your transportation to the airport.
