Ok, this topic may have been exhausted already, buuuut.....We will be arriving next week and want to know how spotty the WIFI was. Trying to avoid going over the Mexico data plan that Verizon had me purchase....Damn, I still have to be available while on vacation :((

WiFi

Hello Occple30

Well, you are correct, topic has been discussed many times. Unless it has changed recently, the new system works much better then the older one. In April the resort upgraded the system, and installed about 2 repeaters on every roof. This drastically improved the WiFi coverage for the resort. We only found that depending on which room you were in, the signal may be weaker then others.

As for speeds, not to sure if the resort improved the bandwidth or not. Not to sure of just what their options may be in regards to bandwidth feeds. With that said, your speed really just depends on how many are logged in at the time, well and if you are inside or outside.

We did use Skype though on our I Phone and for the most part, it worked well. Perhaps others can comment on this that have been to the resort in the last month.

Hope this helps you.
See all you Week43'rs in about 18 more days.

We were there 2 weeks ago and used Nimbuzz (similar to Skype Out) on my Android phone. We were in block 25 (about as far from reception as you can get) but could pick up both Desire WiFi and Azul Beach next door

Just got home today. Wifi works great everywhere. No issues at all, and it's free. A good feature, in our opinion.
