Good morning. Just wondering if there is any type of "craft" or shopping in PM ? Is there any place to buy beer and a few odds and ends close to the resort?

Yeah, Puerto Morelos (PM) is a cute little fishing village and there are little nic-nac type places at center square....along with a couple restaurants and convenient type stores (groceries, snacks, cigars, etc....). The best thing in PM is Claudia for the couples massage! Oh, by the way, if you need any pharmacy type items, there is one at the corner of the main highway at the PM exit.

Is the pharmacy type place walkable and are the other places walkable??

A taxi from Desire into Puerto Morelos only about $10 - once you are actually in Puerto Morelos everything in within the village are walkable distances.
The pharmacia that eddieandjojo mentioned is on the main highway just as you turn to go down to the village of Puerto Morelos, you can have the taxi stop there and wait for you while you shop either on the way to Puerto Morelos or an the way back to Desire
