smartphone email access

If I enable WiFi on my smartphone to connect to desires WiFi, can I check my email without incurring additional fees from Verizon? Trying to avoid bringing a laptop..thanks!

short answer is yes you're correct you will not occur any other expenses, however you must turn off all other data and only use the wifi option. that's how my wife did it last year.

if you forget to turn off the data however you will have a great expense roaming.

We actually put the phone in airplane mode then turned on the wifi to make sure we had everything that could cost us turned off.

Thanks for the tip...sounds like a great way to stay in touch with family without the expense. We plan on trying it on our andriod, hope it works!!!

With my tmobile galaxyS, I use wifi calling at home since I have a weak signal inside, its like talking on 4g full signal, still uses my minutes but no dropped calls
