We are talking about making our first trip to Desire Riviera Maya the last week of December 2012. I know it never gets "cold" there, but are the air and water temps conducive to c/o activities durint that time of year? Also, anyone who has been there during Christmas week, please fee free to chime in with your pros and cons of going during that time of year. Thanks!

We are planning our 9th trip to Desire. This will be our 4th time during the Christmas holiday. We have experienced all kinds of weather during all times of the year. It can get "chilly" at night in Dec, but it can also be very warm. The weather will not stop any activities. Bring a light jacket or wrap and you will be fine. Last year, we had a little bit of rain just about every day, but we still look back on it as "the best vacation ever". Of course, every year we return saying the same thing!
Obviously, since we keep returning this time of year, we are partial to being there for the holiday. The resort is festive, Christmas Eve dinner is spectacular and the staff are in such a great party mood. There is a gift exchange, which is a ton of fun and we have met the most wonderful group of people during these weeks. We overlap a couple of weeks as we stay for 10 nights, leaving on 12/26.
Hope to see you there! Feel free to PM us with any other questions.

Thanks for the info, J&L. Sounds like the weather shouldn't be much of a problem that time of year. Although not definite yet, I think we are looking at going a few days before Christmas and staying for 6 nights or so.
