Can anyone tell us how far Excellence Riviera Maya is from Desire? Excellence is our cover story and we may try to get down there for a little while just to familiarize ourselves with it and take a few pictures. Looking at it on google earth, it doesn't look like a very long walk down the beach. Also, do they have day passes? We have no intention of spending a day down there but we may do a few hours there just to pull off our story.

Thanks GSML. We are actually staying at Riviera Maya but you answered my question because I know that Pearl is about 3 miles down the beach. We are only there for 4 days so I'm not sure how much effort we are going to put into pretending we are at Excellence. If we can pull ourselves from the beach bed and put our clothes on for a couple of hours we may venture down there. The more I think of it though, the least likely it seems it will happen.

Just as a FYI
Here is a link to a map showing the relative distance between Desire RM and Excellence RM

Just my two cents....you might want to change your cover hotel to Azul. It is a two minute walk from Desire so you can easily get a couple of pics there.

Thanks Cokeman. Luv4life, your two cents is much appreciated. We will certainly go that route on our next trip. We haven't even been to Desire yet and we already know there will be a next trip.

we stayed there a few years ago and can answer questions you may have. We used it as our cover story last month when we were there. We usually rave about the spa there as it is very unique. You go through several different stations before your massage......a pool with water jets, a room where you rub ice chips over your naked body(surprisingly pleasant) and several other stations.

We were going to use Hoteles Catalonia. We're not worried about taking pics. that's easily remedied by saying we were too busy relaxing to take pics, but the thing that we liked most about it is that it's an adults only hotel. It's a few miles south of Desire, but at least in the vicinity. Then no one would ask why we aren't' taking the kids.

We just tell people that we are going to a adult resort in Mexico where we can relax and get to know each other aain after dealing with the world every day at home. When asked more questions we just tell them that we haven't been there so we can't tell them about the resort. By the time we get back home they have forgotten about it.
