Vendors at the resort

I read in an older post that vendors would come to the resort on a certain night with different things for sale.
Does anyone know if they still do that? And if so, what night?

Well, you can buy silver jewelry in the lobby gift shop...actually pretty good selection of items at somewhat reasonable prices. Remember everything is negotiable! Also, the other gift shop outside the lobby has "Desire" type outfits, as well as all other normal gift shop type items....including the little performance pill (or so I've heard).

One night (I think it's either Thursday or Friday) there is a guy from Cuba selling good quality cigars, yes Cubans, Dominican's and Mexican cigars plus I think he has some freshly rolled ones as well.

usually once a week they'll set up a market around the pool area around dinnertime with all kinds of different artesanias

I think it was Mexican buffet night - nice market, a little aggressive sellers

The last post is from April. Anyone from Jan or Feb of 2013 know of a market night? It was a lovely chance discovery coming out of dinner at Suki one night. I got the coolest hand-painted tile for only $20 and would love to get more artisan items (as well as the standard shirts, bracelets, and pottery).

Just got back and I believe it was Saturday night that had the vendors there. Set up at the pool and selling everything from jewelry, hats clothes etc... They stayed until 11:30

We were there from Monday Jan 21 to Thursday Jan 24 and the vendors were there in front of Suki on Wednesday night.

Hmm wonder if it's 2x a week because we were there 25 Jan thru the 29th and vendors were set up Saturday night as well.

Well... it looks like they are there twice a week... unless they were there on Wednesday training for Saturday

the most aggressive of the market people were the photographers, they got my wife as we out of the resturant. I asked like 3 times how much, as I had no cash on me, then they finally told us. The others weren't as bad, the wife got a nice ankle bracelet from the one guy.

Vendors around the pool at night have really nice things..every trip we buy a different statue to commemorate our trip. may 31 soon!!
