WEED!..

We were in a regular resort in Jamaica and my wife tried some weed..she blatantly admitted that sex is amazing and mind blowing on weed(she doesnt normally use those words in relation to sex )..

Given the nature of DRM, we think weed will only make things better....so how/where can we get some? I know its not allowed to do it with in the resort..so whats the best place to try it out - outside the resort on the beach?

I advise against it. Mexico is different from Jamaica in their acceptance to weed. Further, once she gets to Desire, she won't need any.

I maybe sharing a little too much here but... We go to Mexico often, mutiple times every year, and I have a Medical Marijuana card issued from the state of Arizona, so here at home I can go to dispensery and get pot legally (at least by Arizona law) and I NEVER buy pot in Mexico and here is why...
Mexico has decriminalized the possession of up to 5 grams (between an eighth and a quarter ounce) of pot, along with other things like heroin and cocain. So you could go on the assumption that it's OK for you to have some too. The problem comes along in a couple ways.

First, like stop signs, many laws in Mexico are more of a suggestion than a command. Odds are great that the cops, federales etc could care less and would just leave you alone. There IS a small possibility that a seller will work in cooperation with local cops to sting you. Even though you may have a small amount, any amount is enough to hassle you and the local cops know that most tourist will pay a small "fine" than have to deal with anything. The reason for the sting is simply that being a cop in Mexico doesn't pay worth a crap. Many Hotel workers make more than a cop because of their tips. The stings are a way for cops to get "tips" of their own.

Second is- Under Mexican law you are essentially guilty until proven innocent. This gives the cops great leverage in getting "tips".

For me, Mexico is not a dangerous place overall or we wouldn't go. That being said, buying pot is always a shakey proposition and just not worth it to me. But hey, the chance of a problem is small, and if you happen to buy some and we happen to be at Desire the same time you are I'd be happen to smoke with you ..

P.S. If you still want to get some just talk to any vendor you see on the beach. They will be able to find you someone to sell it to you.

+1 unless you trust and know the seller especially in the larger tourist areas Cancun HZ/clubs, Playa etc a real possibility of a sting does exist.

Also, most important - if you do happen to acquire and want to light up DO NOT do it on Desire Property - their policy(zero tolerance to any on property drug use) is if you are caught you will be immediately ejected from the resort(ie no refund - your vacation is over). btw - that same policy is in effect for most AI resorts in the Cancun HZ and Riviera Maya.

If I read this right you are saying you brought 4 joints into Mexico????? (I admit I may have misunderstood this). Dealing with the local cops is one thing dealing with the Mexican federal officials is another. As I sated above I have a medical m card and can legally purchase pot in Az so I am definitely not against its use but the idea of smuggling it through customs, even if the risks seems small, (ok I am trying to come up with a nice inoffensive way of saying this) is simply not good. In addition, if you are from the US and you flew in are you saying
You went through airport security onto an international flight with 4 joints? That ends up being a US federal offense. The best way I can think of to say this is... You have WAY bigger testicles than I do. With all honest sincerity I really do hope you enjoy the pot and also really hope you never get caught. I understand how Americans and Canadians see this as a normal thing to do, but for mexican standads this is a no no, at least with mid-up class tourists which are the ones that can afford to go to this type of resorts. Down here it means you would be helping out the cartels that kill thousands of people every year, this also goes for most of the pot you use up in the states, at least from local tourists you would be getting really bad comments, not to mention you could get in some serious sh*t with te local cops

But then we try to stay away from people that have negative feeling about life and not let them drag us down with them. Having worked with patrol dogs for several years, I'd caution others from this technique. I've seen them alert on anything from trace amounts of weed in ceiling panels to explosives buried 18 inches in concrete. Plastic and perfume will not fool a dog.

Also, don't ask the staff to find weed for you (we've seen this happen). Would they help you out? Yes, some will, but you're jeopardizing their job.
