Has anyone stayed in ....?

Postby nekkidcouple1964 » Thu Jul 31, 2008 5:29 pm

Looking for folks that have stayed in rooms:

1911 or 12
1811 or 12
1711 or 12
1411 or 12
1311 or 12
1211 or 12

These are the upstairs rooms in the buildings with only 4 rooms in them. We've been twice and they seem like they would be nice.

Any thoughts?

You didn't mention 1511 but we stayed there last time and it was perfect. Asked for the same room this time around (in 2 weeks)

We stayed in 1412 last week. Although its a garden view room there is a clear view of the ocean from the balcony. Great room.

We stayed in 1911 last year and really liked the room,we loved having the balcony with table for room service. In our opinion the big thing is the balcony.

We stayed in a 2nd floor Passion Suite last November and are returning this November, although for a different week. The balcony gave a great view of the ocean and was a fun place for sex and breakfast (we did not try sex and breakfast simultaneously, but I suppose that is something to look forward to). We could not see the palapas from the balcony.

Room size - Bed size

Postby nekkidcouple1964 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 1:37 pm

These rooms have king beds right?

How is the room size and bathroom size compared to other rooms?

Bathrooms the same?

I like the balcony too. It is shared with the room next door isn't it?

Thanks for the tips.

Passion Suites

Postby pghfunseekers » Fri Aug 01, 2008 3:11 pm

My Passion Suite had a King bed. The rooms are larger than the other rooms because they have a sofa area. The 2nd floor balcony was shared by all 4 2nd floor Passion Suites. Our neighbors gave us a nice show one afternoon. :D

PGH , just not true. Back in 1960, the Philadelphia Eagles did win the chanpionship game against the Green Bay Packers in a blizzard. It wasen't called the Super Bowl back then, just the championship game. Please, for geeze sakes, don't take that one away from us. Also in 1948 we won something. Had a parade in Philly town yesterday for the Soul. Ya know them. The won the arena bowl game. Hell, at least it's something::::))))

1412 is great. The balcony can be used for an ocean view (and outdoor schtoinking) even though it is a garden view. Close to everything. Only drawback is that you can hear the bass in the disco if you go to be early. So just don't go to bed early.

We were in 1412 a few weeks ago.

The 2nd floor rooms in building 1200, 1300 and 1400 are smaller than the 1st floor rooms. Second floor rooms have king beds, first floor queen in these buildings.

Bathrooms are different also. In 1412 the sink was in the room, not the bathroom. The bathroom had a large shower with a glass door. (no tub)

The balcony is shared with the room next door.

There is a map of the resort a few threads below this one that shows the size of bed each room has.

There are NO drawers, zero, nada; so storing things can be an issue for some. A few shelves and plenty of hangers.

All rooms now have an umbrella in the closet. The joke was they sold the furniture and purchased large Desire logo umbrellas.

1311

Postby sbhatia1 » Mon Aug 04, 2008 4:36 pm

We stayed in room 1311. Even though it is a garden view room, you could clearly see the ocean from the balcony. We also enjoyed the fact that it was close to the pool and we could quickly back and forth as we needed to.

That's the only room we have stayed in, so we are not sure how it compares to the other rooms but we are definitely looking forward to trying a different room next year! :D

We have stayed in 1811 & 2111.

1811 -
King sized bed
Sink was outside the "bathroom", official bath contained toilet, area that may have contained a bidet previously, and shower stall. Stall was deep enough for two, wide enough for one, no door, but opening was all the way back so no issue with water escaping over the lip.
Closet was big enough, we were there 8 days and brought far too many clothes. Drawer space within the closet and in the TV armoire.
One thing we had to get used to was a step within the room itself. The bed and bath were raised and the step was probably a foot to the side of the bed - made for some interesting maneuvers late at night and until we got used to it.
Balcony was shared, only with one other couple (ended up being 3 different couples in our 8 day stay) Was nice for breakfast, before dinner and late at night.

2111-

Queen sized bed
Bathroom about the same size, but contained the toilet, sink and corner shower. Somewhat cramped, not enough room for two in the room or the shower. Water pressure was excellent - so good you could not keep it in the shower stall. It was a 3 towel clean up every shower.
Closet space was about the same, but no TV armoir drawer space, we again brought far too many clothes.
Balcony was shared with 5 other rooms, the cut out with the table and chairs were in the center, our room was the first up the stairs and just had a walkway, preferred the 2 room balcony set up much better, although we could see the ocean from the room.

In the end, prefer 1811, and request a room in the 1800 or 1900 block.

Enjoy!

We've stayed in Buildings 12, 13 and 14 in past visits - but our last 6 trips have all been in building 10 since we discovered how much more modern it is and how big the bathrooms are.

In 12, 13 and 14 we stayed on the top floor each time (which means king-sized beds). It's been since 2003/2004 since we stayed in those rooms, but I remember that the showers were open (no doors) and the rooms were generally very dark. The bed was on a raised concrete slab (no box springs) and therefore not as comfortable as the beds in building 10 are.

We stayed in 1412 and 1311 last year, and just returned from a week in 1312 yesterday. Room location close to the pool is very nice, and noise from the pool was never an issue. We tend to stay up late so disco noise is not something we can comment on, but we didn't notice it when we were in the room for costume changes, etc. 1312 was recently renovated, and the new mattress (dare I say pillowtop compared to the old mattresses, was nice). The view is nice and the balcony is shared with your neighbor. The only downside to the room, is a lack of storage, plenty of hangers, but her thongs don't fit on hangers. We mentioned this on our way out and Silvina took a note, and said she had noticed the same thing.
