Renting a bed on the beach

How do you rent a bed on the beach and how much is it? Also somewhere I read about a couple who went on a clothing optional snorkel tour. Is that still available and if so how do I set that up and what is the cost?

You don't need to "rent" the beds, the majority of them are up for grabs at no cost - just get up early enough in the morning to book one with the beach concierge. If you do want to guarantee that you have one for every day of your stay you can of course pay to have one reserved - I believe that only a max of 10 beds are available for paid reservation.

The c/o snorkeling tour can be set up when you are on site at the tour desk (I have no idea of current costs, however)

If you want to reserve a bed (which I recommend because they do fill up and because there are no other chairs/palapas so they are your only option), I think it is about $20/day or $100/week. If you like to hang out at the beach this is a must. Rene is the beach concierge and hangs out around the beach bar area. He's easier to find early in the mornings. Enjoy!

Actually there are a lareg number of plastic loungers available on the beach as well as the beach beds.

Yes there are 2 chairs in front of each bed but they go with the bed so that you can lay in the sun or in the shade. Trust me, if you just walk up the beach and take over any of those chairs, someone will say something. later in the day it may not be as much of an issue.

That's a new one on me. 4 prior trips I got down early enough to pick a bed (also tipped Rene). Often had people on the lounges in front of us later. Never felt the went with the bed and never an issue. You get enough sun on the beds so no need to use the lounges...

There has been no policy change regarding the beach beds. A certain number of them can be rented for $20 a day or $100 per week, but that is not a requirement. On our recent trip, we were able to get a bed mid-afternoon with no charge.

I'll jump in and confirm(second) that there has been no announced policy change on rental of beach beds and I believe that the number that are up for rental is limited to maximum of 10 beds.
