why are people wearing bathing suits in the hot tub

Just had look at the Sea Mountain Inn, and it looks like it is in the middle of suburbia. Is this true? The pictures from the website look amazing but when you google map street view this place it looks like a random spot in the middle of a neighborhood. If someone has some information please share as we would love the idea of a place like this.

We all know that Desire Pearl is more reserve as a general rule. Pearl people please don't be offended by that statement.

Yes, Pearl is usually more reserved, but that can and does change depending on clientele.

DRM has an inherently wilder side. Less than a month for us!

Agree. We've seen a few subdued crowds before at RM as well. The fun level is entirely crowd dependent for sure.

In fairness to Pearl we've only been there once and that certainly isn't an adequate sampling. I've asked several workers their opinions and the people that work these resorts say RM is more of the party / wild crowd normally.

It is true, I'm amazed this has twelve pages of posts! Some people are very passionate about what other poeple are doing!

We just got back and I'm happy to report that clothing in the hot tub at Desire RM was no more than 5 - 10% and the tub was overcrowed each night.

There really wasn't room for everyone in the tub this trip. If that trend continues they will need to add another tub in order to accomodate everyone.

Actually no that wasn't a good problem. One night there were at least 10 couples including us just standing around the hot tub wanting to get in but there literally was no where to even stand up in there. The bar area was full also. Needed more room for sure.

That is good news. Two weeks ago, on the Friday the tub was quite crowded around 4:30ish. I counted how many couples were there: 11... 6 men were wearing shorts and only 2 women were completely naked. 2 had both pieces of their bikinis on and 7 were wearing their bottoms.

I understand the clothing optional thing and letting everyone feel fine but looking at it from the other side, for people who are not 100% comfortable being naked, if they see most of the people around are wearing something, that does not help... And Desire is Desire!

We are generally always naked but it is clothing optional, we have covered up after sunburns in sensitive areas and I do believe we shouldn't judge a persons comfort level. We have seen people with and without clothing at all resorts even at hedo they will wear a towel for comfort level or to prevent a double sun burn.

Agree ... no judging in this free, non-judging world. But we get the "no suit" angle ... there's something about standing/talking with another naked person that breaks down walls, while realizing he has on a suit in the hot tub, with the water line at waist high anyway, can dampen the mood a bit. At Pearl hot tub after 4:30p, there's plenty of shady spots for the upper body ... but again, but we all should do what makes us happy and not worry about others and their choices.
