Ocean Swimming

How's the swimming in the ocean at Desire RM as of May 2015? Seven years ago the beach and water was perfect. There was very little motorized boat traffic, so I would swim out to the reef, explore and then swim back before breakfast. Five years ago there was too much boat traffic so I would swim parallel to the beach and see how far from the beach I could get before being chased back by the boats. I've read several reviews about sea weed taking over the beach and shoreline and am concerned. Swimming in the ocean is really important to me. Thanks, Jim
