Is it o.k to send your favorite drink ahead of time,via UPS,and if not is it legal to pack alcohol in checked luggage.

This has come up recently, and it seems you can't send
alcohol to Mexico without parties having both import and export licenses- and then paying a large tax once it arrives.
You can, according to the latest Mexican customs info I've seen, take in up to three bottles of spirits and three bottles of wine per person in your luggage without penalty.
