So, I'm dying to know if anyone from Desire was going home on the Aeromexico flight that was hijacked yesterday?
It was a hundred people, probably slim chance that one of the Desire folks was on that specific flight.
Kind of a weird hijacking huh? Guy was a wackko, guess that's better than a terrorist hoping to kill everyone.
Flight 576

Close call for us, we left Cancun on the 8th via a US Air flight. Would have been an interesting story.....sorry boss, flight got highjacked and we can't rebook another one for a week. Back to Desire we go!
Spent 6 great days at Desire and as always we were sad to leave paradise behind for the great midwest! Now the new countdown starts until the next trip.

We were not on the hijacked flight but we were at the airport and our flight was supposed to leave at around the same time as that one. We were on the plane, all ready to take off and were told there had been a "security breach" at the airport. We all had to deplane, taking all of our belongings with us. We were led back through the airport and back through security and eventually back to the plane an hour or two later.
Then the plane had mechanical problems. We all sat there in the plane, at the gate, ready to go. And we sat. And we sat. No food offered. No drinks. The whole time we were thinking we could have still been at Desire... At least the a/c was working on the plane. Eventually we took off and did make it safely home--about 5 1/2 hours after the scheduled time.
We only found out what the "security breach" had been when the satellite tv on the plane started coming in and we saw CNN news!

Don't know what time the incident occurred but we were boarding the plane at about 2:00 p.m. and were scheduled to take off at 2:20. We sat there for a long time with them telling us there was a fuel gauge problem at first. Who knows if that was true or not. It was about 3:30 or so when they made us get back off the plane to go back through security. Looks like you barely got out of there on time!
