Hi desire rm folks. We arrive on a Friday morning at 9am at the airport how long does it take to get there? Also check in as at 4pm and the foam party is at 2pm what do we do without a room from morning till late afternoon? We will be traveling with a brutal layover that's bout 9 hours and all we would like to do is shower, freshen up, and mingle but would really like our room to start.Do they ever rush and accommodate the room if we ask for early check in? Maybe at an extra cost?

go to the spa shower there and hit the beach until you have your room......30 min to get to Desire aprox.

Okay thank you will do great advise but do they offer early checkin?

I would suggest you contact the resort with your situation and ask. If they have rooms that were unoccupied on Thursday night they might be able to do something. If the place is full, and they have to clean all the rooms, probably not. They will securely store your things until the room is ready.

We have arrived at noon and rooms were ready some times, other times they weren't.

You can actually check in as soon as you arrive - you will get your wrist bands right away and can use everything at the resort. Depending on how busy it is the day you arrive, you may or may not get your room assigned until around 3 or 4 pm. The bell men will keep your luggage safe until you get your room.

What we usually do is keep a small kit bag inside our luggage that has pareos/cover ups, sandals, sunscreen, etc and just grab that from our bag once we have our wristbands - then we head to the spa and use their shower to get the travel sweat off us, change our of our travel clothes and head off to enjoy our Desire time - that way we don't really worry about when the room will be ready

We usually arrive around noon and our room has never been ready. We pack a beach bag with sunscreen, swimsuits, sunglasses and a cover up (so we can hit the buffet After check in, we grab it out of our suitcase then head to the spa to change. You can shower and freshen up there. Ask the attendant for a locker to store your street clothes in. Then hit the pool or beach. Your room should be ready by 3 or so. Go to the lobby and they will get your luggage and take you to your room. Then head to the spa and grab your stuff out of the locker. It's really only a minor inconvenience. Oh... and its usually about 1 hour from the time we land until we are sitting at the pool with our 1st cocktail
