What days of the week are best?

We are planning on going to Desire RM again (2nd visit) in February/March. On our first visit, we met a couple that unfortunately left the next day A few days later, we met a couple (that did an awesome job introducing us to the LS ) and then we had to leave

Of course there are no set days everyone takes vacations but we are wondering if there is a schedule that is more common for people (Monday-Sunday, Thursday-Monday, etc) ?

OK, a serious answer: most people travel weekend to weekend (if going for a full week), that's why airfares are cheaper on Tues-Thurs.
Once you have made a few visits, you will probably decide to coordinate your trips with the "Desire Friends" that you have met on previous trips.

I agree with the "ends in Y" as well. Only being there once I don't have a lot of experience, but we stayed from Thursday to Tuesday and worked out well. Monday seemed to have fewer people but that could have just been me.

The crazy thing is that with all the amazing people rolling in and out, nothing really seems to change. We learned though that if we met someone we clicked with to be able to somehow stay in touch. Kik has worked really well for that.

We always like to arrive mid week to get our tans going and feet wet in activities before the weekend when many people arrive. But agree with the previous posts, any day ending in a 'y' (and at the 'y') is a good day to arrive at Desire.

It seems like Mondays and Tuesdays are the quietest. The resort usually seems to be a little less crowded and more mellow.

The folks that come in during the weekend party pretty hard and need to recover. Monday and Tuesday fit that bill.

Wednesday the crowd starts to pick up as the four or five night people come in and that continues on Thursday. In addition the previous weekend people have recovered. The vibe picks up.

Fridays and Saturdays you have last call partiers who over lap with next bunch of new arrivals.

Rinse and repeat.

Our experience at RM is everyday is a great. Never a down day. Pearl, on the other hand, can be quiet Monday to Wednesday, and everything comes to a head on the weekend. RM seems like every day is a Saturday. Just our experience.

I would agree with the previous posters. With the exception of weeks that are booked by a certain group, occupancy is generally going to be lower Monday through Wednesday. We have usually gone for a week arriving and leaving on a Saturday, (the most popular arrival day) and liked the fact that we could recover on a Sunday before going back to work. Last year we were at RM mid March, arriving and leaving on a Wednesday. The benefits to that were cheaper air fare and a less crowded Cancun airport without long lines to get through immigration. Made the arrival to Desire so much easier and quicker. Also much more of a turnover in the crowd, but we thought that was a good thing. Any day at either Desire resort certainly beats working!
