Can anyone provide suggestions on airport transfers? Have been to Desire Cabo 3 times and always used pre-paid transfers to the resort and cabs back to airport to avoid getting picked up 3 hours prior to take-off. looking for best approach in Cancun...

Actually we have always done much the same, either taxi both ways or at least always a taxi back to the airport for the same reasons as yourself.

PS - there are always taxis stationed just outside of the Desire entrance so you don;t have to wait for more than a minute or two before you are on the way to the airport

Some Cancun Airport to Desire Transfer companies that I know reliable are:

TransBeach - the "official" (whatever that means) Desire designated company - many good reports from Desire customers

CancunValet http://www.cancunvalet.com/?p=p_2&sName=airport-transfers Great service and can provide local cell phone rentals as well

and

USA Transfers(Entertainment Plus) <img src="http://www.entertainment-plus.net/images/Airport/USAlogo_small.jpg" border="0">
Who I know has the best overall one way price - ps - we used them one way from the airport to Desire last May with success and arrived at Desire less than 20 min from exiting the terminal

Thanks for the suggestions. Looking forward to visiting the Cancun resort after many trips to Cabo.

To avoid the 3 hour advance(That the shuttles like to use) , why not just fib about your flights time like we do ? If our flight is at 3, we tell them its at 4:15 getting us to the airport a perfect 1:45 before the real flight. Hasn't let us down yet. :)

We highly recommend Transbeach. Very clean and Very Professional. And always right on time.

Steve: Excellent idea. We are going to use that one. Hope they don't ask for our flight number and check on it.

We have never had them confirm our flight times, and really , why would they. If we tell them a time and they go by what we say, and we miss our flight then its our problem not theirs.

I dont recommend leaving it to the last minute, but when we there last June we arrived at the airport less than an hour  prior to flight and made it no problem. Thats too close for our comfort though so that is why we go with the 1:45 plan
