We are considering staying 7 or 8 nights this year. What days do you think most people arrive and or leave? Arrive Saturday and leave Sunday? Arrive Tuesday and leave Tuesday? What do you prefer on your weeklong or longer stays?

If you can manage two weekends, DO IT!

Taking our first trip this year and we are going Tue-Tue.
My thinking is that it gives us a couple of days to settle in and get acclimated to the property before the weekend.
We have never been but this is what we are planning.

Get two foam parties in (Fri), definitely worth it.

The busiest arrival and departure days, not only at Desire Resorts but at most resorts is Saturday. Naturally, Saturdays are also the busiest at the airport. During our arrivals at our last two Sat to Sat trips the immigration lines at the Cancun airport were horrendous, particularly last January. Part of that was due to what appeared to be understaffing at immigration. Last March we tried Wednesday to Wednesday. Even though March is a peak month, almost no lines which was great. Was at DRM less than an hour from getting off the plane. Doing the same schedule this March. Saved more money on our flight/hotel package too.

For the reasons mentioned above we do Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday. Worked very well for our previous trips.

In addition we seem to have a better chance for upgrades to first on our flights. During spring break season there are usually tons of kids. They slow the process down as well. Not as many around during mid week.

Last year and this year.. We did / are doing Friday as our day of arrival and Sunday as our day of return.

Friday is a definite day to hit as many times as you can, the foam party is awesome!
