Sorry to hear that you are not going :(

You are correct - Azul is the resort directly north of Desire

Here is a link to the official website for that resort:

Unless you have already told them that you have booked accommodation somewhere, you could tell them that, in the present economic climate, the Yucatan has lots of empty rooms and you were just going to go, hire a car, drive around and take pot luck.
For family contact, turn on the cell phone for ten minutes every morning, and if there has been a disaster there will be a text message asking you to call.
It's worked for us so far........... .
But apart from stopping you going into the sea, pool or jacuzzi, why has a broken foot prevented you from going anyway?
(I hope it gets better soon, though.)

It's the Azul Beach Resort that's shown in the photos (there is another Azul Sensatori that flanks the other side of Desire).

Great photos! We just got back yesterday and just to let you know they no longer have the beds and hammocks under the massage huts and the beach isn't that wide.

Oh, and it took us about and hour and a half to walk to Puerto Morelos, in case you want a few more "details".

We didn't see anyone at the resort with a broken foot? :?
