Unaccompanied men at the hot tub

This trip we found more night time creepers than ever before. One we had a less than pleasant experience with him and his wife. They were almost openly fighting during playtime and we split. Later that night she is “feeling unwell” yet he shows up at the bar with condkms and lube. No big deal, a polite, we’re off to bed.

A couple nights later we’re in the hot tub. Mingling with a couple for a couple hours and a guy quite literally splashes down in between not only our group but the other couple and starts off with “if you want me to go away, I’m the type of guy that will just leave if you say so” other couples husband says “ooooookay, I mean you’re welcome to hang” then creepy guy says “your wife’s hot” and makes a move towards her to which she slides my way under my arm. Keep in mind his original entering of group separated the other couple from each other. The other husband didn’t really know how to handle the conflict so they danced around what constitutes hanging out and I say “actually your approach was pretty shitty, why don’t you go.” To which he does. Wife was pretty shaken for a bit.

Crazy to me. Some wife is sleeping while her loser husband is out playing. It’s one thing if my wife is done and a couple invited me out. Quote another to head out and play 3 am cleanup at the hot tub. People are naked and drunk, this behavior needs to be prominently stomped out. I’ve never had to handle such an agressive guy at a singles bar let alone desire.

We just returned from 8 nights at RM, and we had some similar interactions, albeit in the pool. We are experienced lifestylers, so this isn't a case of being overly sensitive or protective. One guy in particular was super drunk and super aggressive. After sending him away a couple of times, I went to talk to his wife, who removed him from the situation.

We've been 6 or 7 times and only had one experience. One guy was being a bit obnoxious in the hot tub, he said something to another women.....oh boy he picked the wrong one, she was having none of it....raised her voice to him.....within a few second two security guards came out of nowhere and escorted him away. Less than 1 minute it was all over and we all went back to what we were doing. 99.9% of the people we have met have been great. There are bound to be some creepy ones every once in a while.

This was our 4th trip, first time I’ve ever had these issues. Just bad dice roll that couple days I’m sure.

We've never really had any issues in five trips.

Funny, our last trip, on our last night my wife wasn't feeling well after the disco, so she crashed. We had planned on meeting our friends at the hot tub. I figured I would just crash on our patio with some pizza until I was ready for sleep myself. When didn't arrive at the hot tub, our friends came to get us. I explained my wife was sleeping, and they tried to get me to come along without her. I declined, partly because I did not want to be the creepy guy at the hot tub alone. I just don't think it's appropriate...even accompanied by other couples. That's just me.

Kudos for caring how you might be perceived by others - I don't think there is enough of that in the world...

However, I don't think the creepy guy syndrome kicks in unless he is by himself. In any group of people, I don't spend any time comparing the number of guys and gals to see if there is a potential creep lurking. There are too many legitimate reasons for a difference in count and none of them are my business.

That's just me. :D

I agree...If you are with a group nobody cares, especially if you stay within that group. It's when you go out on your own you become the "creepy single guy".

Agree with a caveat. The DRM hot tub/bar has one of the best views of the Gulf and the bar guys serve up some great scotch. I've spent time at happy hour there while the wife was napping/getting prepped for the evening dinner and festivities. I've met many great couples while sitting at the bar. I think it doesn't take more than a few minutes of chatting to figure out who's a creep. No??? 8)

Our friends were there and witnessed that guy the OP mentioned plopping down in the hot tub! They said he did a few different rude things and I think was eventually escorted out? Sad to hear it but we figure anytime humans and alcohol are involved (and sometimes even without booze) stupid things will happen.

We saw a new sign that appeared by the jacuzzi stairs at DP, which basically states NO single / unaccompanied men allowed in the jacuzzi area. We can’t remember the exact wording. The sign is small.

The same announcement is on the stairs to the jacuzzi at DRM.

There are also numerous No Smoking signs around the hot tub. Just because there are signs does not mean people pay attention to them.

I agree, people don’t pay attention to the signs, and how can the staff figure ou if a single guy is in the jacuzzi, they can’t. If a single guy is polite and respectful, no harm, but if he is out of line and you report him to the staff, they can use that sign fo justification to remove him. This thread started because people were a accosted by jerks without wifes, this is your bases to get rid of them.

Personally in our five times to Pearl, we have never had a problem.

I've stayed behind at the hot tub while my wife gets ready with friends...because it takes her so long. I kind of feel that's different than actually venturing there alone late night. No judgements. I just personally wouldn't feel comfortable there alone late night.

We had a similar situation once at the hot tub at RM.

It was late at night, probably after 2am. It was only us and another couple (that we had been playing with that evening) in the jacuzzi, but I think there may have been some people on the beds. The four of us are chatting when this guy comes up the stairs and just plops right down in the tub. He is very fit, muscular, attractive, and happy as all hell. He's very excited and just starts talking and won't stop. My theory is that he was on something because he seemed very hyper for that late at night (not drunk). Completely derailed our night with the other couple, even if it was getting late and things were winding down.

We quickly got the hint that he was up for playing with anyone and everyone, and we wanted no part of that. Some random dude just pops up in the middle of the night? Weird. No idea where his SO was, or even if he had one. Never mentioned it, although maybe we should've asked. The wife and I just kind of shut down and slid a little ways away while he engaged the other couple. The woman of that couple seemed interested in playing with this stranger but the man did not. We excused ourselves because it was late and we went back to our room. We had halfheartedly made plans to meet that couple the next day before they left Desire, but we didn't see them again to ask what happened. Hopefully they told him to get lost.
