We were told that they plan to tear down the last building on the north end of the property and build more villas. They also said (quietly) that they had reached an agreement on the adjacent property on the north end with a plan to construct 50 more rooms there. Hopefully if they add rooms they build another pool and another jacuzzi. As always, take these statements with a boulder of salt until something actually happens.

We just returned and can confirm they are telling people they bought the land next door and are building 50 rooms.

My guess is more BS. The "buying the property next door and building xxx..." claim/rumor was first made, what, eight or so years ago? Also, if they were actually doing that, what sense would it make to knock down a current building to build more villas when they could simply start from the ground up on their "new" property?!

We were told this by membership sales staff and resort staff.

Not sure what the normal occupancy is. At 4-5 times the price I know we won't be partaking any time soon :D

I wonder how much of this is real and how much is just marketing speak. It makes sense those guys would like to give the appearance that they are always expanding and adding new stuff, etc, ie add perceived value to sell more memberships, same thing with the mansion as someone was told "better to get in on the ground floor now before the process go up..."

We were at RM mid-December 2018 and stayed in the suites. They were fully booked the full time we were there.

We booked a nearly two week stay 5 months in advance for RM in January. Out of 12 nights, the villas were available for 7 nights. We looked at three separate possible stays this summer. Out of 25 days, the villas were available for 2. Safe to say they have oversold the villas. We just booked for next January (10 months in advance) in order to make sure we could get the villas and not have to change rooms during our trip.

Are both of you guys members? We bought our Villa package back in Aug 2016 and until just recently, last 6 months or so we haven't had any problems booking. One of the things we were told when we joined was that the Villa's would only be available to members with the Villa package. I'm not blaming you guys, but it might explain why it is so difficult to get a villa now days and just another example of the sales people telling us whatever they had to in order to close the deal. I do give you guys props for planning ahead, we have been 10 times, every few months since we joined and most of our trips have been last minute getaways. It's been 7 months since our last trip, mainly due to availability and we are overdue for one. We are booked for May and again in June, they can't get here soon enough.

We are villa members. We booked in February for a trip this June and the villas were not available during our stay, so we are staying in a passion suite. Same with some prospective dates in July and August, except for 2 nights in August. We often travel to Desire with less than 3 months notice, although we try to get away somewhere every month. Planning ahead seems to be a requirement now for the villas. Building more is great, but it won't be great if they keep overselling the new inventory. That's one hesitation we have for the new Mansion at Pearl (besides the location). For the top end units, there are only 2 of them. Imagine how hard those will be to book.
