Day long rain...

This is our fourth trip and we have been very lucky when it comes to sunshine/rain. Usually short rain showers that pass. The resort magically produces umbrellas in strategic places so you can go to dinner, etc covered. However, our last trip, very last day, a tropical storm with near hurricane gusts, downpours started on our way out and we heard it lasted for days. In the event that happens on our upcoming trip (We so hope not!), what does the resort do in terms of activities? We can (and have) hang out in the pool and hot tub in a light rain, but what happens if the weather is bad enough to stay inside? We get that we can do the obvious in our room or with new friends, but does the resort organize indoor activities? Or are you limited to hanging out in the restaurants for meals and the bars at other times?

Grab another couple, a bottle or two of champagne, and hit the hot tub in the spa.

Fortunately we have never needed to break them out, but we always carry The Game of Lifestyle cards with us. Head to the lobby and see if you can get a pickup game going with the Ice Breaker Edition. And, if that goes well, you can head to a room and continue the game with the Hot 'n Heavy Edition. :)

We had one of our best days ever at Desire with cards against humanity and torrential rain.

Several years ago, it rained ALL eight days we were there. We have more memories from that trip than any other. Granted, this was our umpteenth time we had been there and knew the lay of the land, and I always go with the attitude that, by the end of day one, I know everyone's name. Yup, sucks to come home in January with less of a tan than when we left. Truly, you either let the rain get you down or lift you up. We had the time of our lives, and had chaffing (um . . . you know where) to prove it!
