Finding the right group

Just came back from desire pearl for the first time, great trip. Both of us are newbies but can't wait to go back. The resort is very upscale, however outside of the small group we where with the age range was much older than us (late 30's). From talking to other couples we heard that riviera maya had a younger crowd, so now we are thinking about going there on our next trip. Does anyone have any experience with the life on the swingset group? What was the avg age for their group? We are not into the lifestyle but are very open minded. We met several couples who are in the lifestyle and they really made our trip fun. We are a little worried that the swingset group might be either too intense or want nothing to do with a couple like us. Any feedback is much appreciated. Also if you know of a group that would fit us please share :)

It isn't exactly true that RM has a younger crowd than Pearl. Ages vary from week to week, but overall on a year round basis the average
age is probably between 45-50. It's a matter of economics obviously, and generally people tend to start broadening their horizons a bit after
their kids have left the nest. Of course their are plenty of people still in their 30's who do go to Desire, but we yet yet to see anyone put together
a group focused on a younger crowd that has been successful.
All that being said, the swingset group probably does have more younger folks than many. We are booked for the group this November.
We are one of those "older" couples ourselves. From what we have seen so far in the group's trip site (hosted on Kasidie) there are a wide range
of ages but especially more younger folks. We haven't been with the group before but in our conversations with Char ( Char Travel- the travel agency for the group/trip) I think anyone who is fairly new to Desire or to lifestyle oriented experiences would be very comfortable.
Obviously the group is hosted by the "life on the swingset" podcast crew. Visit their website and you can get a better idea of what they are about.

Thank you for the response. I agree with your assessment about people and phases they go through in life. We admire older couples and hope we will be as active and young at heart as they are. It's just tougher bridging a 25+ year age gap.

EC Spicy,
We have had similar experiences going to DRM. We are in our late 20s and have been to DRM twice now. We have never been to Pearl. We love desire and plan to be back in the fall. As a general rule, I think the age at DRM tends to be younger on a year round average (based on economics, hard to justify pearls prices). We have always been able to meet fun younger couples in their 30s on each of our trips. It tends to be a small group, so we have not had the chance to find the right couple to try to "play" with but have always made friends. I would recommend an attempt at DRM. There may only be a few very young couples but we have discovered that they want to be approached by other couples their age, so go for it and have fun.
