We made the first visit to RM since before Eden was started, January 2026.
I had emailed ahead of arrival requesting a 1st floor, quiet room. Sadly nobody had read this and they tried to allocate us a ground floor. We stood firm, despite being told there were none. Finally Jesus had a better look, and found us a first floor ! Not a great start, but we let it slide.
Because we are from the UK, we were always up early and into the gym, before a stop at the coffee bar for some coffee and chat with the entertaining Edgar and Axel before heading for breakfast. The buffet was just as good as ever, with the lovely Yasmin to greet you and Steph at the door too.
A game of beach volleyball run by a couple of cheating playmakers who added to the fun by moving the score around, Bella, Chiara, Bam Bam Mauritzio... you know who you are !
Then it was time for cocktails at the lovely ]enny's Bar. Glad to see it was still there, even though it wasn't particularly busy, and we enjoyed a drink with the sound of the sea. A big shout out to the kitchen team - sadly we didn't get their names, except for the lovely Marco who we remembered from Pearl. The restaurants at Khalo ans Sahlo were both excellent - great food and difficult to say which we liked best.
The fun and games has all moved to the new area, leaving the old pool as the VERY quiet pool, but it was still pleasant to hang out there. There was not much action down there, but there was some fun occurring on the beach beds (I wasn't sure if they'd allow that) but security didn't seem to mind except to eject a couple of people from a nearby hotel.
Difficult to say if we like RM or Pearl best, we'll have to return to Pearl another time for comparison.
