This was our third trip to Desire RM. It is amazing how each trip is so different each time we go. There were plenty of Canadians and Europeans on this trip, and many Midwest and East Coast Americans. The crowd basically determines what type of trip you will have, which can be good and bad.

First off, the rooms and food were good, not great which is not a surprise to us. We don’t get real hung up on that and just know that we are here for the fun, not 5 star meals and rooms. The service was excellent as always, and I thought the entertainment staff was quite good. The resort was not full, but it did not ever feel empty or dead at any point. The new professional photographer was a hit with us and seemed to be quite busy all week with other guests doing photo shoots around the resort. Supposedly the Spa has some new erotic massages that people were quite "happy" with. We did not do this, so I'll let someone with first hand(s) knowledge review that themselves.

We also used the steam room quite a bit on this trip. We did behave, even though we found it very sensual and erotic in there. I don’t think many people realize the steam rooms and sauna are coed and are part of the gym, not the Spa so there are no extra charges for it. There is a steam room in each locker room that is coed and they usually have just one of them on. The sauna is also coed but we found it too hot for us.

The guests were a full range of ages. We are early 40’s and had plenty of people within 5 years of our age either direction.

I will say we had two negatives for us on our trip. One was the amount of smokers on this this trip. There was not much you could do or say about it since people were pretty much following the rules, it just seemed to be everywhere on this trip and we simply had to get used to it, which we did after a couple of days. On our previous trips this was never much of an issue for us, so it just depends on who is there the week you are.

The only other negative was having to deal with a few very aggressive men in the hot tub. My wife always has a smile and talks to everyone and this unfortunately seems to draw the unruly and very handsy types toward her. This only seemed to happen when I would leave for a moment to go to the bathroom or if she went up to get drinks by herself. Obviously alcohol and the atmosphere in the hot tub play a big role in this, but it just made for a few stressful situations for us. Once again this has never happened on our other trips to Desire, so we just chalked it up as another learning experience in this world.

Besides those two issues we had a great time and we will be back. The positives completely outweigh the negatives and we’ll just be a little more aware on our next trip.
