We just returned yesterday from a 4 night stay at the resort. It was our 3rd stay at DC and our shortest as well.

The airplane ride was uneventful and all went smooth. We live near Memphis, TN and our flights to and from are typically less than 2.5 hours gate to gate. So if it weren't for the rising cost of airfare, we'd be making a few long weekend trips to the resort throughout the year.

The resort did not appear to be near full occupancy as our previous trips during April. Someone mentioned it was just above 50% full, but nothing official here.

The grounds were clean and reasonably neat as usual. There was some construction taking place on a couple of the beach front units and the noise was a bit much if you were on one of the beach beds near by.

Our unit, 1402 was nice, all things worked fine, but we did have an initial bug problem. One trip over the front desk was all it took for a young lady to appear with in a few minutes and the bugs were quickly dispatched with some pretty effective bug spray.

The beach beds were not a problem obtaining, we managed to walk right up and get one on 4 different occasions, both morning and afternoon.

Pool side was fun and games as usual, you can be as involved or uninvolved as you like, but the pools side loungers were somewhat hard to obtain as folks would place items on them staking them out well before 8 in the mornings. No problem with that, other than the fact some of them never showed up to use them during the day or didn't show to well after noon, therefore denying some folks the comfort of a lounger at times.

Hot tub was fine, but it's a bit too warm for our tastes when the outside temps are 95+ and it was still pretty warm even late at night. We only ventured into the tub one afternoon and then again one evening. We did however utilize fully the beds located up in the tub area. A couple of them needed new mattresses, you would sink to China on the center of one of them. But other than that, those beds did there thing just fine.

The food was good, nothing great, but all was good. We ate at all the restaurants except Il Piacere. Service was good at all. Late night pizza at the lobby bar was a treat as usual.

We hit the disco 2 nights, seems about the same as in previous trips. Music would flow from good to bad to sucks. Went back into the playroom on Tuesday night around mid-night, and we were the only ones there!

That's it till next time and that will probably April or May of 2009 and back to a full 7 day'er!
