live trip report April 2-10

Hello everyone,
We are here, trip # 11 and all is well!!! . The disco is incredible, the playroom as well. The pool heater is also working - pool temp yesterday was 89 F.
Another day in paradise is in the plans.
We'll check in later.

So, things are a bit different than in Jan/Feb, eh Ritch?

Apologies for not continuing this report from Desire but it was difficult to get away from our activities. When we got back to our room it was for showers or .

As I mentioned before the new disco and playroom are nicely done. A few finishing touches were completed when we were there and a new dance floor with poles is on the way. We spent most nights dancing - the music was actually pretty good - the DJ kept the dance area packed most of the time.

The daytime entertaiment at the pool has moved up a notch with some acrobatic performances that would be likened to Cirque de Soliel.

The pool temp was variable from low 90's to mid to low 80's - must be an on/off switch for pool temp as opposed to a thermostat. When people complained about the cold water it would start to warm within a few hours.

Reliable sources have also informed me that Desire has aquired a permit to rebuid the pier and that this work will be undertaken soon.

Weather was great every day, spent an hour or so every morning sailing.

As usual the food was great, the service outstanding. The staff treated Diane like a Queen and I was the ultimate beneficiary of this treatment.

In conclusion we had a blast and are in the planning stages of trip #12 in late July or August.

Pier would be great, it was wrecked before we ever traveled there.....hope they get on it and it doesn't take too long....

wonderful news about the pier! we've been there since the beginning in 2003 and have seen the pier on all shapes and forms. Desire just doesn't look the same without a pier! Hooray!

The Pier YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS that was before our time. But we are lookking for it on our next trip. I hope they have it up By July.

Eric, We hope to run into you and Christine this summer. It's totally different than our Jan/Feb trips. The days are way longer and way hotter. Evenings are nice as the ladies don't need cover ups to stay warm.
Would be nice if the pier was done by then too.

oh wow, I remember that pier and have pic of posing out there with my hubby years ago! Glad to see it's return, hope by this June '10! So happy to read about sll the renovations that will make D. an even more fantastic vacation spot!
