Quick Visit to RM 6/9-6/11, 2024
We visited Pearl and decided to stay a couple of nights at RM to get a look at the new upgrades. We have been to Pearl and RM more than 20 times combined so my comment are based mainly on the changes that we noticed at RM.
The new lobby/check in area at RM is very nice and modern. We check out of Pearl at 11 and got to RM about 11:30. We were hoping that we could get in our room before 3pm, but it appears that they make ZERO concessions to allow you in your room before 3pm. We had a Seductive Swim Up Suite and asked which room we would be in. We were in room 2706. We walked by the room and it was finished, but we were told that we cannot get access until the manager signed off. So we waited 2.5 hours ... until EXACTLY 3pm before they let us have the room. I never understood why they don't offer the tour/sales presentation to guests who will be without rooms for an extended period of times. We would have taken a free massage and utilize that time without a room more efficiently. I'm sure there is a reason.
We walked into the room and it was VERY nice. It puts you in the mind of the upscale resorts. Everything in the room was very nice. No complaints at all. HOWEVER, the seductive swim up suites pool area could stand some improvements. There is only two regular chairs and a table on the patio unlike the Beloved Swim Up Suites that have two chairs and a round sofa to lounge on. I don't understand how the more expensive room doesn't have a piece of furniture to lounge on like the lesser expensive rooms. The round little chairs by the pool bar would be sufficient. Also room 2706 has a camera that is aimed directly at the patio and pool area. I understand the need for security, but no one wants a camera pointing at their pool/patio. There is also an area that is open right next to the pool. Let's just say the people on the tour missed the action by about 5 minutes. There needs to be some improvements on these rooms and 2706 in particular. We paid way too much money for that room and would never purchase one again. Also, the butler service that came with the room was useless. I called and asked for him to make a reservation. He made us feel like we were bothering him and basically told us to call ourselves and make the reservation. We even had to call and arrange everything for our departure (transportation and bell boy) ourselves. Our butler never even inquired about our departure and arrangements. I'm convinced that the butler is just to say that there was one... nothing else.
The food was about the same quality as usual. We couldn't eat dinner at EROS because it was closed for dinner on Sunday and Monday. I don't understand how desserts are barely sweet at Desire, but I guess they want to keep us slim.
The hottub/disco/playroom area is put together quite nicely. It give you easy access to any/all of those venues. You could easily go to the club and just walk outside the door to go to the hottub.
The main pool is very lively and crowded. The old pool is very quiet and peaceful. I think the new pool will be better once the pine trees grow out. There is currently not a lot of natural shade.
Overall it was a good visit. I wish I had gotten an older room and not wasted my money on the Seductive Suite....never again. The rumors are true about the large number of clothed individuals. To each their own... just noting that it is no longer 90% nude... it's probably 80% non-nude for the ladies.
