Arcos and Gustavo were there to greet us at the door...hugs and kisses/handshakes and we were ushered inside to a glass of champagne. Easy paperwork and off to our room, it's ready. WOW- storage!!! A large bureau with 6 drawers and a cabinet to hold the fridge etc. Nice improvement. Finally...a place to unpack.
Off to the poolside grill for a late lunch.. Greetings to Daniel, Alfredo at the poolside hut and.......
Fast forward 9 days and some great weather; a fabulous Halloween party (If you were there I was a french maid
, so was Diane), wonderful food, great friends and fun.....it was a blast.
We had not been back to Desire for 13 months and this trip was exactly what we needed. We had the best time, reconnected, met some old friends and some new ones and burned up nine days in no time.
Our typical schedule had room service bringing coffee etc. at 7am (gracias Daniel) and we would watch the morning activities on the beach for 30 minutes or so before returning to ....... then breakfast and one of Matilda's creations - I love that woman - and then some poolside relaxation/went scuba diving one day etc. etc. etc... afternoon fun... Jacuzzi beds...nap...dinner...disco...jacuzzi beds...???... Usually found our bed about 3 am.
We always seem to need another vacation when we get home.
The grounds are still beautiful, the renovations are extremely quiet; the disco no longer has the beds in the disco area, now benches, chairs and tables around the outside wall - lots more room.
Staff is still very friendly, a few new faces but all with smiles.
We got home on Sunday and booked our next trip on Wednesday. See you in January!!!
