Unbelievably good time! July2013

We just returned from our first of what we hope to be many trips to Desire RM. This was our third trip to an all-inclusive resort in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area. Each trip has been great. The atmosphere at DRM, however, made this trip so much different.

First, every time we went to a bar, restaurant, beach, pool, jucuzzi, etc., we met new people. One of the first couples we met turned out to be super cool people that we hung out with several times. By the end of five days we never walked past any group of people without knowing at least one couple.

The service is excellent. Bartenders are attentive and fun. The staff in the two "upscale" restaurants are top-notch. Best example of the great service: we were having a conversation on the beach with C when she saw her husband G down the beach looking around for her. C starts jumping up and down trying to get his attention. Before G finally got the message a security guard came to make sure C was okay and Africa, the waitress, came because she thought C needed another drink!

The lingerie and schoolgirl theme nights and shows were very sexy. The most fun night was the Jacuzzi foam party. Music, drinks, naked people, and four feet of foam = good "clean" fun.

The meals in the Italian and Asian restaurants were amongst the best we've ever had. Quality, taste, and presentation were all impeccable. Breakfast was not as fancy, but tasted great and offered many options. The dinner buffet was acceptable, though not particularly impressive. Lunch was a little disappointing compared to other offerings. I think the resort should open the main buffet for lunch.

The bars are plentiful and bartenders very good. The specialty drinks each day were tasty, cold and refreshing. Pours were generous and bartenders were more than happy to fulfill special requests. Most of our favorite brands were available, including Crown, Jack, Grey Goose, and Don Julio. The only beer choice was Dos X, so those preferring a darker beer may be disappointed.

Room quality was the only area to find fault. The room was small, with only a queen bed and not so much as a guest chair. The bathroom was in need of a repaint. The shower lacked a door (intentionally), meaning the floor was soaked after each shower. The TV was small and in a poor viewing position (but, to be fair, we never even considered watching TV during our stay). Finally, there were very tiny ants near the bathroom sink. The ants were small enough in size and number that we never bothered to ask for spray, but we wished housekeeping had noticed and taken care of it. These complaints aside, we would not have traded our room for the nicest suite in most hotels. We had a first-floor room that opened directly to the beach. The views (of the beach and its naked occupants) outweighed all negatives. We should also note that we booked the cheapest room in the resort. Other rooms may be much nicer.

Finally, regarding LS aspects, the takeaway is that the resort is indeed LS friendly. However, based on discussions and observations, probably only 1/3 of the guests indulged in LS activities involving sexual contact. Most others were there to "see and be seen." Thus, if the erotic atmosphere interests you, but you prefer to keep your hands and bodies to yourselves, you will still have great fun. That being said, if you think you will be offended by seeing others engage in sexual activities then this is not the place for you.

All in all, great place, great staff, and great people. We will be back ASAP.

Great trip report. We were there in July/Aug also and agree with your summation. I guess it's important to bear in mind that not all L/S activities are overtly in your face. We prefer to play behind closed doors and not necessarily put on a show for everyone to see. We sometimes do, but find it too hot and draining so take the party back to someone's room. There are many people I know who did the same there and preferred just to interact socially not sexually at the pool and jacuzzi.
