After missing our original flight due to traffic, (If you are familiar with D.C traffic, you understand. lol) purchasing a last minute, one-way international flight through Delta, (You DON’T want to know the cost!!), we made it 4 hours later than intended. And had probably one of the BEST VACATION’S EVER!!!!
Check in/Room: Check in was no problem. We were given room #2111 (Garden View). Close to everything. Nice and quiet. It suited us just fine. Friday night is Casino night. We were just too tired to try and change clothes to participate, so we just bellied up to the bar, had a few drinks, and then went back to the room to go to bed, so that we could get up bright and early for our first full day.
Pool/Beach: Loved it. Plenty of chairs (I’m guessing b/c they were at a lower occupancy.) We never had a problem asking for a certain spot. Beach had a lot of seaweed, but that’s Mother Nature for you. You just step over it and continue on. Never did use the beach beds, even though we kept saying that we would reserve one. But I don’t feel like we missed out on anything. If anything, we met more people around the pool and we like that. Plenty of socializing!
Food/Restaurants: We’re foodies. And their food is pretty good. I’ve had better, but I never thought the food sucked. The sushi was really good. I could have eaten that all day every day. One of the restaurants was under renovations, but they moved that out near the pool area. It was nice. We had dinner there one night. We did go twice with a group of people to the Pearl for dinner. Pearl has Desire beat, hands down when it comes to food. Lord have mercy, it was good! Loved the steak and cheese quesadillas w/ habaneros for lunch at the grill! I think I ate that most days for lunch. Lol The pizza is good to eat late at night when you’re drunk and heading back to your room. The raccoons seem to love the pizza too. lol They will walk right up to you, or block your way, as if to say, “ I know you plan on sharing that, right?”
Staff: Our favorite bartenders would have to be Miguel, Edmundo, and Joel. Edmundo would see David coming and already have his drink poured and in his hand before he even sat down. Sometimes he would even come around the bar and meet us half way with our drinks. Awesome, Awesome guy!! Always knew my drink as well! Loved that guy!
The E/C staff was awesome as well. We had a lot of fun with them, especially Foxi. I managed to talk him into playing candy crush on Facebook. Lol
Entertainment/Theme Nights: So much fun!! Definitely try and dress up for their themes. We really did have a lot of fun with that (well, I did anyways! Lol). Almost won the lingerie contest! Woot! Night club is a lot of fun. We danced our asses off in there. It did get pretty hot in there at times, but I guess that’s to be expected when you’re tearing up the dance floor. Never did the playroom. It actually took us a few nights and finally asking someone where it was. They keep it pretty well hidden. There is always next year though.
Jacuzzi: sometimes it was pretty busy, other times, not so much. And I’ll just leave it at that. Lol I did lose a pair of flip flops near one of the beds and didn’t have the heart to interrupt to ask, “ Did anyone see a pair of flip flops under your ass, anywhere?”
People: We met some super fabulous people from all over the place. I don’t think we could have asked for a better group of people to spend a week with. Everyone we spoke with, whether it be at the pool, beach, bar, hot tub, were great. If anyone is concerned about body image…don’t be! There were all types, and all beautiful in their own right!
This wasn’t our first rodeo when it comes to clothing optional resorts. We’ve been to places like Hedo and Couples, and Desire has definitely score A+’s all across the board for us. We will be back!!
Cheers,
Amy and David
