First a little about us so you know our perspective. We are 37/38 years old. Married 16 years and in the lifestyle for about 1 year. Also this was our second trip to desire (april2014).
First we were anxious to arrive. Excited and nervous. Nervous because our first trip was an amazing experience that forever changed our lives. So we didn't know if the second would be as good but hopefully better! Plus we would be there for a few days during ISM month which we were excited for.
We arrived in Cancun, all our bags arrived with us and we got the green light at customs!! USA Transfer kindly greeted us and we were quickly on our way to Desire. We used USA Transfers last year and they do a great job! Highly recommend them!!
We arrived and were greeted by the Desire staff who welcomed us "home"! We were quickly checked in and unpacking in our room. From landing to our rooms was 1:15 hrs.
Excited to get naked and get things going, we quickly stripped down and headed for the jacuzzi! As we approached the top of the stairs and scanned the jacuzzi, it became very obvious that our arrival lowered the average age by about 30 years!!
Not that there is anything wrong with that and actually good for all of you still out there. We hope to be still visiting desire when were in our 60's!!! But when it comes to having conversations and meeting people with similar interests, we were SOL. But we were there to have fun so in the spa we went and the party began! And as the week went on a few more couples closer to our age trickled in that we met and had a great time.As usual the staff at Desire is outstanding! Especially the new entertainment staff. Unfortunately we felt there wasn't a lot of participation during our stay. Whether it was the daily activities or dressing for the theme nights. The crowd just wasn't into it. But again we go to have fun and enjoy ourselves. We participated in the "sexolympics" (and was on the winning team!), did the salsa dancing with Kuko, attending the two couples workshops and dressed for every theme! Back to the entertainment staff, they did great. Kayla, Kuko, Jay, and Alex! We had a deep conversation with Kayla! She's amazing and very intelligent! She gave us her philosophy of the "lifestyle" based on her experience being immersed in it since working there. After talking with her we discovered that we are "Lifestylers", not swingers. It was very comforting to see the same waiters and bartenders. Joel, Carlos, Alex, Rene, Africa, Sylvia, and more! They continue to do an amazing job and we rewarded them$.
The food was terrific. Sahlo is our favorite, Suki is great. And the buffet this time was good. Not great, but we still had a good meals.
One of the things we enjoy the most is dancing! So we pretty much shut down the disco every night. Especially the Mrs.! She again ensured that everyone there had a great time! If you were there the same time as us, then you definitely saw us on the dance floor!! We felt the disco was not as busy each night compared to a year ago. One night it was completely dead.
They played the SuperBowl on a large screen in the main lobby area. They had a spread of food and entertainment. It was fun (unless your a Seattle fan).
The weather was unusually cold and windy. Out of 7 days, 2 were nice weather. The staff told us that it wasn't typical, but not unusual to have a cold week in either jan or feb. Our bad luck we guess.
As for ISM month. We didn't think it was any different that any other month or compared to when were there last which was not ISM. The only change is sex was allowed everywhere but the beach. But we didn't see one person take advantage of that. Like we said earlier, the crowd there was older and seemed to just stay to themselves. We were told by Kayla that a week and a half earlier and the place was wild with a more energetic crowd. Again our bad luck. They say it's all hit or miss when it comes to the overall vibe. Unless you go with a takeover, then you bring the party. Which we are now considering attending. Also different for ISM was the couples workshops. Miss Lola from Playboy was there and we had an amazing hands on class about BDSM! And yes to those of you that wear a blindfold, or lightly pin someone down during sex, that's BDSM! Who knew?! We discovered a safe and enjoyable way to include BDSM into our relationship. Again Lola is amazing and knows her stuff!! Also there was Dr Jess with "Swing" and Playboy. She gave a class on pleasuring a woman. We must say the Mrs. really enjoyed it!! It too was hands on! The day we left she was giving a BJ class but had to leave before it started.
Overall we had another amazing time. Very different from our first trip due to the overall vibe. But we had a great time, made new friends and will definitely be back. We decided that we will give ISM month another chance, maybe earlier in the month this next time though.
