Difficult to improve

This was our fourth time at Desire RM, and amazingly, were pleasantly surprised. Somehow, things keep getting better!

The entertainment crew was even more fun and energetic than we remembered (where do they find the energy??). Sofia et Vividiana were really particularly great. We liked the outside party formula on Wednesdays, great idea and it brings a nice change to the usual disco nights. Great themes, fun and sexy! Music at the disco was even more to our taste than we recalled, same thing for the rest of the music actually.

Service was, overall, simply awesome, as it typically is at Desire. Even the lunch place, where it’s usually a bit less present, was very attentive when Paty was around. Food still great, the cooks doing a great job with the right cooking and all. We had written comments in the past about the absence of tropical fruits and were very happy to get mamey sapote (a first for us), guanabana (even if the season is just starting), guavas, etc… Yay!

Actually, it’s getting really hard to find anything to improve! I guess the only thing would be the beds on the beach. Not sure why, but it’s often a bit more complicated than we’d wish. First, it’s never obvious where to find Rene or whoever is taking over for him. Then it takes a bit of “research” to find an empty bed somehow (he never seems to trust his sheet), and then some more waiting for towels that do seem to be located quite a ways out, why they’re not at the bar, or even better directly under each bed for example I don’t know. Towels get forgotten sometimes. Extra sheets are sometimes available, often not. While Rene seemed to understand that if the non-member-reserved beds are all full, then it’s ok to assign "member” beds, that didn’t seem obvious to whoever takes over for Rene. He was oohing and aahing, never quite agreeing to let us have one, but not disagreeing either… There’s now many more beds reserved for members, clearly way too many as the vast majority were empty while the remainder where all used.

Anyways, I guess that’s our only wish that it would take half a minute to get a bed and towels, not minutes and hesitation and walking here and there. This is really the only area where the service, although still very polite and enthusiastic, isn’t up to par with the “we’re doing everything to make our clients super happy” that we witnessed everywhere else. We forgot to write it in our comments, I hope someone read this…

We love Desire! Can’t wait to come back.

Do you have to pay every day to reserve a beach bad?

No you don't. If you don't want to go through going down every morning to meet Rene and get one, however, paying is an option.

Yes, sometimes Renee is not always at his 'post' but he's not far away, either. Most likely finding a bed for other patrons or making sure there are enough towels, etc. We are not members and have never had a problem getting a beach bed with Renee's assistance - heaven forbid us measly non-members take a bed from a member.

Some issues we do have with the whole bed /member thing is that some beach beds are reserved for members /Passion Suite guests along with a couple of lounge chairs and those members spend all their day at the pool, on their reserved pool bed /lounger, while the beach beds and loungers sit empty all day.

But we know that Renee does his utmost to keep tabs on all the beach beds, who's coming and going, etc. and we've never found it complicated, once we touched base. No one does it like Renee!
